I have a Mt Vernon AE the problem is that I have 6 dashes on the wall control. Also when I plug the stove in the auto clean doesn't operate. I've checked the wall control wires to the stove all good. Power supply checks out, the micro switch on auto clean is in the closed position, tried swapping the wall control, control board and power supply still same thing. Checked door switch and hopper switch. 121 volts at the wall correct polarity and grounded. any ideas????

thats a good one, usually when I shut power down, and turn back on the autocycle is the first to run.

Dashes usually mean communication error, better go back and check your thermostat wiring.

Ok heres what I found. I jumped red and green went to other end tested for continuity did this for green and white and red and white continuity checked out. Disconnected all jumpers and checked continuity to make sure neither wires were shorted together all checked good. Checked wire harness and terminal block. Everything checked out good tested 4 or 5 times each time it was good. Ended up trying new wires and the stove fired right up. Figure that one out. I don't think my method of testing let me down but going to check the wires yet again to make sure.

Wires might be fine but the connection at the controls might have been iffy and merely applying the pressure via the multimeter probes made the connection solid (maybe, possible?) ;-).
