This stove is on my short list to purchase as my FIRST wood stove.
How do you like it?
Pro's...Con's?

No Napoleon owners out there?

Thanks BeGreen, for the reply and the advice over the past month.

I am going to order the Napoleon 1900P tomorrow, in black porcelain enamel, with gold louvers and web arched door.

I purchased the Napoleon 1100pl just before the new year. I chose this because it was a good stove for the money. Being new to wood burning I knew it was safe and dependable and easy to use. I have not been disappointed. I'm still learning, using less than perfect wood and technique but the stove is very forgiving and gives good heat. The secondaries are awsome to watch. I cant say much about how long she will last but the components are well made and you can get parts anywhere on the internet, which means reasonable pricing.

I had to choose between the 1100 and the Jotul Oslo. I wound up choosing the 1100 because money is tight and I wasn't sure the Oslo would like my vent system, 14' total. My next stove will be the Oslo or something similar, but right now I'm satisfied with this stove.

Good Luck and tell us how you made out.

I have a 1400 Napoleon. Heats an 1800sq ft home just fine. While we only get cold every so often as in every week or two for a day or two, like supposed to drop to -15 to -20 in a couple of days, generally temps are generally 10 - 25 degrees on average which is pretty moderate I think, and we do quite fine with the stove. For the price, it has done well. I have a Stanley shop blower that pushes air from the back through the vents. That makes a world of difference in extracting heat from it.

I've had a Napoleon 1900 for 4 years now. I love it. It will heat all 3200 sq ft of my house. I must have put about 20 cords of wood through it by now. Be sure to get the blower. check my other posts on this stove. If they made one with even a bigger fire box, I would buy it.

After long drawn out discussions (with wife) and all types of reading many many reviews (here). We had our Brand New Napoleon 1900K ( black enamel with gold trim) installed about 3 weeks ago. The stove is FAN-FABULOUS! (so far) installed with a blower and some other nice options. Wife loves it! (after dressing it up to her liking) and is :) smiling. It heats our very old house very well - nice and warm to very very warm in some areas. Stove (to me) is very easy to adjust and start. Thanks to ALL here for your knowledgeable input.

Glad to hear. Mine is cranking out heat as I type. Cooking Chestnuts on the trivit also. The whole house is 76 degrees - just the way the wife and daughters like it.
