Burrman,

How many inches are you expecting in your area?

Predicting a total of more than 12" here in central Maine. Nothing we haven't seen before . . . .

Regards,

Ranger

We here in CT are in yet another storm.............prayin my roof holds up!!

Here in New Fairfield, CT the expectation is for about 6 inches of snow then another 2 inches of snow/ice. Just what I need, yesterday my 30+ year old Honda lawn tractor (48" snow blower attached) bought the farm as they say in the Air Force. Searched around for a new one and guess what?, none available and no one can/will order any more this season. I suppose the manufactures aren't making any more until summer.

As someone else mentioned my poor back will get another workout in this the 8th storm of the season. Yuchh.

Supposed to have an energy audit today, that is if the auditors can get here. Also expecting much blown in insulation sometime in the near future. R 40? Wow.

And yours truly has to drive in it today and tomorrow... the whole world will end if I don't deliver a load of potatoes to the chip maker in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Anybody got an extra snowplow to fit my truck?

On the AM new, there were multiple reports of stores being out of roof rakes. Someone came up with a neat idea that only takes a few minutes to put together and you have your own roof rake, less cost and safer.
Lengths of what looked to be 1 1/2 or 2in PVC put together, For the rake end, use a tee at the end wit short pieces of PVC . Use a short length of plywood bolted to the end at a right angle. Length of tee with ends and the plywood rake end is about 18-24 inches. Hold all pieces together with bolts and wing nuts. Use duct tape warped around the base and where your hands grasp the pvc. (better gripping area.) Total suggested length was 10-15 feet. Safe because it isn't made of metal so it can't conduct electricity should you get too close to a power line.

Not sure what's gonna happen here in CT. Go back to work tomorrow at the FD so I'm hopng for some OT! I hate shoveling but I love the money!

oh look...its snowing....who'd a thunk it.

Hope your OT is from shoveling hydrants and you are not hoping for someone else's misfortune so you can make a few bucks in OT.

This is just the warm up before the big one hits.

I cleaned the stove this morning so I can move snow without also having that on the list of things to do.

I wouldn't mind so much, but its snowing fast enough that everytime I get off the fork lift snow gets on the seat, and then on my pants....now I must spend the day with what I like to call "Swamp Bottom" (usually I say A$$, but this is a family place you know).

I hear you on the swamp butt, ever try wearing an apron worn backwards made from the material they make rain clothing from (talking real rain gear, not high fashion totally useless stuff)?

Wow global warming.... supposed to get 20" with 30-40mph winds. I think I might have seen this once in my life. Our city didn't buy ANY salt or sand this year which is just wonderful... NOT.

We just call it another snow storm, it is winter.

stove all cleaned and ready to go. I am going to take the advice of buffalo's past mayor, Jimmy Griffen, during the blizzard of 85. "Grab a six pack and stay home"

opps, kids school closed all ready for tomorrow, now that 6 pack just became a 30 pack.

In all of my 40+ yrs. working in the medical arena, in the military and civilian sectors, I never had a day off related to bad weather. More likely was the chance that I would be mandated to work an additional shift because someone called out. Anyone who called out related to weather was expected to come to work as soon as they were dug out. Not trying to get in was subject to disciplinary actions. Not saying it was safe, but that was the way it was and still is.

I had a PM from your local ground hog, he said.

"Brrrr!!! The humans around here are nuts, there's twelve more weeks of winter coming. No way am I going to check for my shadow until then."
