I'm getting a haze on lower right and lower left-hand sides of my door. It correlates with black stains in that same area where the door closes. Could a bad seal cause this?

I watched a video on you tube on how to install a gasket on your stove. They said to take a piece of notebook paper and shut it in the door. then try to pull it out. If it comes out easily, install a new gasket. If not, your gasket is ok. You were supposed to do it all around the stove door. Top, sides, bottom, etc. Seems like a good idea!

I will try that test .... when it has cooled down a bit. Thank you.

AKA the dollar bill test. Use a dollar (when the stove has cooled). If it is loose, there may be a door latch adjustment to the door close a bit tighter and compress the gasket more.

Thanks BeGreen. I will check that out.

Don't know about the 91 but here guys talk about it on the 74 and a guy here at work has a 74 and his does it. I don't think a leaky door seal would do that anyhow.

Babs, that almost looks like text-book glass from my Blaze King. Left and right = crapped up, center is clean. Air wash does that, but your's may be different. Your's looks like light build-up, let your fire burn a little hotter, for a little longer. See what happens over the course of a few hours.I'm changing how I burn, and low and behold- my glass is clean. Go figure.

BeetleKiller: Did you see the dark stains on the stove door surround .... not on the glass, but on the stove itself? I thought maybe the reason it was only staining the lower left and lower right was because it might be leaking as this lined up with the black stains on the stove.

I missed that, you're right- you need to check that area. Do the dollar-bill test, you may have a bit of a warp to the door. Good thing- if warped, it's on the low area of the door. You'll just have to adjust you're primary air to compensate for the extra air at the leak. Do the test, see what happens. (BTW- did you get the check? :red: )
