I just received an email. My office is closed. They say I can "Work From Home". I can get tons of work done in between dig out of the snow, entertain the kids and listening to my wife tell I don't fold the laundry the correct way. I should be able to get a good 10 min of work in. I will have to spend some quality time cleaning the snow off the wood pile so it's not all that bad.

Just pretend you are going to work and give the kids a kiss goodbye as you head to the bedroom. Time for the kids to learn how to work and fold laundry. Here is a video to teach them how! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYVKMVFYv6w&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
as a mom of 6 children, having my hubby work from home before, it can be done!

the lady who teaches the kids to fold has some nice videos. we have seen 2 of the 3.

I'm a professor and I live like a school kid - always waking up early to see if classes are canceled from storms - yup, I'm off today! Cheers!

Don't know why you had to wake up early this morning. Last night your University was posting they were closed today........

It don't really look that bad out right now. I expected a bit more. I'm sure my office wishes it didn't send out that email.

Really?! I didn't check - they usually decide and post cancellations at ~ 6am. Oh well, needed to load the stove anyway! Cheers!

Wish I had a job :-S

ditto! i'm spending too much time on this quality site!

I do have a job....get up early, shovel the wifes car out, drive her to the commuter train, come back home and shovel the rest of the driveway, walkway, side walk, wood pile. It's only part time though, 2 or 3 days a week, from jan til......????. No pay but the benefits are increased cardio vascular endurance and a stronger back, arms and shoulders.

I'm not sick of running the stove but the snow is getting old. Well, another month and a half or so and I'll be out on the ladders, slinging paint for a living..

Now that is what I call positive mental attitude. If you don't have a job create one, although it sounds like a neccessity too.

Yes, positive attitude. The reality is I could be working tomorrow. Or the next day..... I've done some estimates lately and all it would take is a phone call and I could be back to work. Meantime, I'll just take the pressure off the wife on the these many snow days and save her a few bucks a day in parking at the train station. It also affords me time to catch up on interior projects around the house. Besides, with this snow it's not really great to be tracking the mess into a customers house loading in all the equiptment.
