I need some help.....my blowers seem to be working fine. But I have a lazy large flame and pellets are filling the pot and not burning quick enough....

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Dirty stove syndrome, bum gasket syndrome, lack of air syndrome (damper closed too much, OAK plugged).

Any combination of the above.

On the mechanical side a slowing (failing) combustion blower.

On the environmental side, venting into the wind.

Is there a large low pressure system in your area? Can't be the draft....with over 800 posts here, you must know by now the relationship between draft and consumption.

LOL at that avatar...funny stuff.

The Castile has no dampers, its more like a plug and play unit, the only adjustments you get are feed rate. Sounds like the stove needs a real good cleaning, or your combustion blower isnt doing its job. Pull the cast back plates out and look at the fins on your combustion blower , and see if its all clogged with ash. Remove the vent pipe off the back and see if you have ash built up in the pipe.

The only thing I can think of on a Quad Castile with lazy flame is lack of air, so look at all your seals, including the cleanout slots in the firebox and make sure they are both completely closed or you lose your negative pressure and get lazy flame.

Whey the pot is filling I dont know, it could be your pellets arent getting enough air to burn fast enough and the auger is going to keep feeding the pot, therefore it will fill up if they cant burn quick enough.

I would take all the plates out and really clean it good, including the vent. Also clean the air holes in the bottom of firepot, if they are blocked you get lazy flame from lack of air too.

Good luck...

Yep, what he said x2

Just putting out all of the things that go with the thread title in case several more folks with different stoves land here.

Just throwing this out......I had the same problem earlier this season and it turned out to be a bad glass gasket.

I had some problems like this with my quad sante fe... I had to take out the back plates and top one. Clean it out really good. Brush off the fins of the combustion/exhaust fan and vac that out really good. And clean your exhaust outside really good. And that fixed it for me. BUrning 12 bags a week right now I do this once a week to keep it tip top.

Thank you all very much! I will check all mentioned from you all....I figured it may be an air prob. But wanted to get input. Warmandcozy....I actually had bought the glass gasket but hadn't replaced yet....I'm going do today and maybe that's my prob as well....ill clean really good too....thanks again!

bad seal around an opening at some point, something aint closed all the way... that is if it's clean.

Well.....after a day of tearing apart my stove....cleaning really well....I was baffled and thought maybe my combustion motor was getting weak....but it seemed strong so I was stumped. Well....my next move was to the stove pipe outside. About 2 months ago I had cleaned my stove pipe what I thought was thoroughly...well at the very topof my stove pipe outside where the pipe makes a 90 degree away from house with a dryer grate....that's where I found a plug....a pretty good one....I think there may have been a hive started from summertime. Stove is running super now! This summer ill be covering the end of my pipe to prevent surprise plugging in the future.
THANKS AGAIN to all for input! :)

congrats in getting it figured out pretty much on your own....all too often the folks using the stove blame the dealer and/or the stove company when its a maintenance issue (somewhere around 85%-90% of the time).......kudos to you....it only helps you understand the unit better, helping you in the future......

if ya cover it , make sure you leave yourself a note in or on the stove about it , had a customer smoke up his house several years back from forgetting he had done so, just a precaution.

Glad you got it solved, I have a Quadra fire Castille also and I clean my exhaust out every month and the burn pot at least once a week. It's amazing how little restriction it takes to alter the burn.
Been using mine for about 5yrs with no problems although I do have questions
Have you ever checked your air temps on L-M-H
Never knew what to expect but seems as though it could be hotter.
