I'm going to sell my Seton and buy a 1500 Garn. There is a dealer up here in Alaska but he wants big $$. Is there a dealer intue lower 48 that gives good deals on Garn products?

Probably, but how much is shipping?

You might want to do a search on "Garn" & PM the members that have them or are familiar with them. It is somewhat against forum rules to post about "cheapest place to buy" type questions. Ask me how I know!! I did the same thing when joining. The announcements at the top of the page will give you the info., Good Luck & great choice on the boiler, Randy

$2,000 in shipping costs is what drives the price of a Garn up in Alaska. Garn is sold only through the representative for a given location. If you want to drive to Minneapolis to pick yours up and "save" the shipping costs, I'm sure your dealer could arrange it.

2,500 miles?

You can find online prices published by other regional dealers, but that mileage is going to have a big factor.

I do seem to remember seeing somebody who did a road trip, you will need a large truck and trailer.

I had a 1500 delivered to new Brunswick, Canada for $2200. This was the best price I could find..others wanted $2500 to $3000. Got the name of the shipper from a local broker in my area, got the price and passed it on to Garn. Minnesota to my home is 1600 miles. This might give you some kind of idea.
Good luck

thats funny im working on getting the parts needed to build a garn style boiler and sell my seton as well.

Google Alaska Outdoors Forum, and look under the Hunting Forum. There's a guy who drives his tractor trailer up (full/empty??? IDK) but brings back hunter's trophies/meat. I think if you talked to him you would get a good price to ship it up there if there is room!

Good advice on the tractor trailer, thanks. I talked to the dealer up here who may be able to save some freight by combining shipping on a few units between now and summer time. I'll prob make it through the winter then get the garn going this summer and ready for next season. What a pain.
