Hi all,

I got my Jotul Rockland 550 installed today and the power cord is too short on either side to lie nicely against the hearth. It can reach the plug but it is stretched at a 30 degree angle from the stove to the the plug. My husband said he would order a longer one and recognized the type of cord but he can't find the correct one online. It is a C15 right angle and we need an 8-10 foot length. The installers were no help and I will call the dealer tomorrow but I suspect this forum will know more than they will.

So, does anyone know where to get a longer cord like this?

If not, is it safe to use a heavy duty extension cord.

Thanks for any help!

ETA: it's the right angle of the plug that is the problem. There loads of straight C15's online.

There's not a lot of power draw on this cord. A short extension with a three prong plug will be fine.

I am faily sure that your dealer will be able to help you. Looks like that would have been a question they asked prior to your selection. Dont loose sleep its gonna be fine. If they cant help contact the manufacturer.

They blew off my site survey and I didn't think to ask. I thought they would be too long if anything. I wish they sold them separately in different lengths.

Had the same issue with mine. I just picked up a black extension cord. Matches perfectly, same diameter and all. Looks just like the cord that came with the stove. Most of the cord is hidden behind a box of kindling anyway. Easy fix.

If you don't want to use an extension cord, you could buy a right angle C15 connector and wire it on your own cord the length you choose.

EDIT:
Found a 10' cord with right angle IEC connector. Might not be the correct connector though. I'm all confused. IEC is a type of connector, and C15 is a type of IEC connector. I'm over my head now!

EDIT:
Learned all about IEC connectors. C15 is a high temperature connector.

I wired a new outlet, one that was fed from a circuit wired to my generator transfer switch.
