looking for something big and bad that will accept a 6" flue. was looking at the jotul oslo, napoleon 1900, and the timberwolf 2300. i hear good things about jotul, but am really not too keen on the fanciness of it and if i can save a little cash by not paying for the fancy-dancy stove, great... as long as it still performs. seems like most xl stoves require an 8" flue. suggestions?

A lot of folks on here seem to like Englander's NC-30.. 6" exhaust, 3.5 cubic foot firebox. If you do some searching on here for it, you'll find lots of posts. Many of the recent.

pice isn't necessarily an issue. $1500 or somewhere thereabouts, i suppose. i'd spend 2k if i was convinced.

how do the englanders and summer's heat stoves rate against napoleon and timberwolf's offerings?

Mansfield is big and long-burning, but it's more than $2k.

I like my Osburn 2400 insert which is also available in a freestanding. 3.2 cuft firebox about $1500.

dang. good price. too bad that's a ways away from me. maybe hd or lowes would price match.

I've never used them, but I believe BrotherBart bought his 30 through them.

just emailed them asking if they'd price match farm and fleet and still do free shipping. hey, can't hurt, right? ;)

As BB has slyly pointed out . . . it may just be a coincidence but the mailing address for both Englander stoves and overstockstoves.com are in Monroe, VA . . . coincidence?

I suspect you may find that Englander uses overstockstoves.com to move some of their stoves "directly" vs. their normal sales channels (i.e. selling through hardware stores.)

No where near the great deals mention...but if you want to spend almost $2k and buy a wood stove thru a retailer where you may be able to get parts, service, etc a little locally, look to see if there is an Enerzone dealer near you and look at the 3.4 CF firebox model.

That being said, $900 for an NC30 is a hard deal not to take.

well, nobody would match farm and fleet's $799 price... oh well, it'd take me over $200 in gas to drive out there which would take me to overstockstoves.com's $980 delieverd. might go that route.

does anyone know if the deal at overstockstoves.com includes the blower with the stove?

I think blower and side heat shields are options.

Would the factory unit have any advantage over a box fan pointed at the stove out if combustion range?
