I am not looking for a long answer but real brief. If you do not wanna answer then Carry on Private.
1.) Monthly Kilowatt usage (not what the bill was $$$$) as reported on you utility bill. If you wanna break it down as October / November / December / January Or just an average of the four month billing cycle.
2.) square feet of livable space in your house. If your basement is finished and you are down there then it is livable. if you go down to check on Grandma "sleeping in the deep-freezer" so you still get the social security check then it is not livable.
3.) pellet stove primary or secondary heat source. Yes this is not per the owner's manual but tell the truth of how you use it.
4.) People living in the house full time, not the student at MIT or Stanford.

The reason being is I have a couple Home Shows coming up and like to give real data to people un familiar with pellet stoves.

Thanks
Eric

#3- Pellet stove is primary (75 degrees)
No Lp heat in 2 yrs

#4- 2 adults, one child, and one in the oven. 2 lazy dogs and crazy cat

My most recent electrical bill for Nov. 26, 2010 - Jan. 31, 2011 (68 days) was 1268kwh, or 558kwh/month average.

Liveable sq. ft are 2000

I TRY to make the pellet stove the primary heat source, but the oil monster does come on for hot water and to keep the rear zone & upstairs bedrooms a decent (67-68 degrees) temp. Just got the oil tank filled today and since it was filled last on Aug. 6th of last year (178 days ago), I burned 393 gallons, or approx. 2.2 gallons a day avg.

People full time in the house - 1 human, and 2 kids on weekends (and add 1 dog full time too  )

updated to monthly kilowatt usage, thanks Pete

don't know the elect use.

What about Pellet??? :eek:hh:

Pellet is here with the other German Shepherd, Buster, and my WIFE'S Jack Russell, "Jack". They do not use much electricity but due suck up some heat. Notice who owns Jack?

Monthly electric averaged $62.78 the last 4 months. The part of the bill I mail to Ohio Edison shows the KW usage.
1000 sq ft ranch
Pro Pellets primary, used the propane the week my brother visited last month.
1 adult, 1 old dog, occasional visitors.
Eric, what home shows will you be at, I may be able to visit.

1) Avg 850 kwh/month for 0ct, nov, dec (50% of which is generated by my PV system)
2) 800 sqft (upper level of High-Ranch)
3) Primary heat source. Gas fired hot water system never runs for upstairs, but heats my downstairs
4) 2 adults

Oct 856 KWH
Nov 850 KWH
Dec 1022 KWH
Jan 1139 KWH
2 adults, 2 kids were gone and have returned, 2 dogs and 1 beta fish.
Pellet stove is main source of heat and use heating oil, 150 to 200 gallons per year for hot water and supplemental heat, 2200 SQ FT colonial.
Hot tub in the back yard is my biggest energy hog then next it's the kids.

Nov 750 KWH - Dec 900 KWH - Jan 870 KWH
Usage includes home office with 5 PCs/Servers running 24/7.

Primary heat -
Harman XXV heating 2 floors from finished basement. Approx 2800sqft.

Secondary heat -
Harman Advance (1st floor)

Last resort -
NG furnace

2 adults, 2 kids, 4 cats & 2 dogs.

Usage increases to about 1200 KWH in the summer months as the pool filter and
central A/C are our biggest energy hogs.

1) electrical usage out of whack until 2nd pellet stove is online due to electric heater in the my den area.

2) 1800 sq feet cape, uninsulated basement
3) Pellets are primary ( Why did i wait so long.. ugghh )
oil forced air for backup (collecting dust)
4) 2 adults 1 toddler and 2 turtles

OOOOPS. Sorry, Pellet only I guess.
I do use a blower on the insert though that's good for about 40 watts. :)

2,000 ft2 near Albany, NY.
Have burned almost 4 cords of wood this winter.
The wife retired this year, so there's someone home using energy during the day.
Use fuel oil for DHW and upstairs heat; still on same tank from beginning winter, I think, and it's getting a little low.
It's been a colder than normal winter.

Dunno the KW's. My bill doesnt go over $50 a month. My stove is a pre AE Quad MT Vernon, burning pellets. It is the sole source of heat in my home. I doubt if my furnace even works I haven't tried it in two years, besides the tank is empty. If the pellet stove were to break down I would have to use my kerosene heater until I fixed it. I bought 75 gals of propane in a small satellite tank last fall to supply the water heater. It is still burning off of that purchase, hope to make it to spring. It's just me and my mutt, son is at university, old lady left 17 years ago (good ridance).

1. 725 kWh average/month
