New Stove arrived today so I guess I'm officially on my honeymoon with the new stove. Won't have it in place till Saturday though so for now I'll just enjoy the view. Never actually laid eyes on her till today when I got the wrapper off. Got to say shes a bigger girl than I imagined, but that's a good thing. Huge box, firebox that is, 5.4 cubes actual measurement. Looking into er looks like if you welded 2 of the Magnolias together to create one. No heat shields, full circumference heat radiating surface area with plenty of cast front and rear and on top. No problem for clearance to combustibles as she will be encased in concrete. If this baby can't rock the house don't know what can. I actually wish it were going to stay cold a few more days.
I pushed the Mag real hard last 2 days and woke to 60degrees upstairs. Ran it over 600 all night with reloads hitting 850+ and could barely make 70 downstairs. Not blaming stove , just need better environment and or bigger stove.

At the top of his sig.

A firend of mine said I'm going from a 4 cylinder to a V8.

I'm subscribing to your thread here. Promise you'll post all kinds of pics please!

Sigh -I think I'm in love.

I think its a love it or hate it thing. It was love at first site for me, however that wasn't enough to make me want to purchase. I dadled around for at least 6mos before finally deciding it was worth a shot. Definitely not for everyone, especially if you think you have to have certs and ratings and the such. Hoping it will solve some issues I've had with either the pre or post EPA stoves.

Steve at Vermont Iron Stoves has a slew of videos of the Elm on youtube.

Nah, this is what the V8 looks like, with open headers!

That's the other one I'm desperately in love with. I guess my tastes have always run towards funky.
