Needing to purchase a ton to finish the season and wondering what everyone thought of Greenway. I know you should try them before you buy. What I have access to is OHP, Tomorrow Energy, Pennington Oak. Greenway is the cheapest at $194.50 OHP at $195.99 Tomorrow Energy at $215.99 and Pennington at $225. Never seen Greenway around here so just curious.

What part of NEO you live in? My brother told me a few minutes ago he heard Nowata hit an all time Oklahoma low of -31 yesturday.

Pryor area. Oh ya it was freaked cold around here -23 on thursday Never really remember it getting this cold around here. Also I got 22 inches of snow in less than a 12 hour period. Its been one winter never to forget

I have picked up a lot of gater aid and toilet paper from Pryor when I was OTR. Have you checked around the Tulsa area and see if you could get some good deals on pellets around there? Or if the price was good enough Siloam Springs might be a good bet. I am looking at heading to Springfield to stock up after tax time.

Tulsa really doesn't have a great value on pellets. Your lowes an HD average $250-$300. I was thinking of going to Springfield this summer a buying straight from OHP. Is that what your plan is? Buying local like my TSC, orcsleans, local lumber yard and feed stores seem to beat any other prices out there. Is there something in siloam? So what kinda brand you got? And where you live at in NW arkansas

I live in a little town called Berryville. about 10 miles east of Eureka Springs and about 30 min south of Branson. I am going to get mine from nixa hardware and seed. They are in Nixa MO which is basicaly the southside of springfield. They have a brand called Ozark Oaks. I know several people around here that burn them and they love them. It is their store brand that is all I know about them at the moment gonna try and score a bag from one of the ladies at work to try. they usally run about 179 a ton.

I have burned over a ton of Greenway pellets this season. After my initial ton I purchased several bags of OHPs to compare, as these 2 brands are the only 2 I can find in our area (Midwest).
Greenway / OHP comparison:

Greenway:
Very good heat
More ash
Some clinkers

OHP:
Disappointing heat
Less ash
Virtually no clinkers

I much prefer the Greenways due the very noticable heat difference.
To match Greenways heat I had to actually set my stove (Harman P38) normal feed rate up from 2.5 tp 4.
I clean my stove every 3-4 bags regardless of pellet brand so the increased ash / clinker from Greenways is a non-issue for me.

Well, thanks for the info. My OHPs I'm burning this year are extremely ashy compared to previous years I burned them. So bad that it cakes to the burn pot. About 3 bags the ash pan is almost full. I do like the OHPs but with something different at the same price is it worth trying a different brand. I will agree the heat is not there with OHP.

I have been burning Greenway this year, and they have been a good pellet. Similar to Turman's, but not quite as hot. Good ash in my stove. They are a bit dusty. Not alot of fines, but a fine dust.

I've burned both OHP and Greenway... what I have found is that the Greenways burn quite a bit hotter than the OHP's. I guess I haven't noticed that the Greenway's give more ash but I did notice that I needed to turn my feed rate waaaayyyy up to burn the OHP's... (I have a Harman XXV)....

I purchased 2 bags of Greenway at my local orscleans last night. This morning did a total cleaning job with leaf blower etc... Poured a bag of Greenways in and totally noticed a difference right away. There was a robust flame and 99% more heat than the OHP's. I even had to slide the adjustment down to control the flame. So I can say that Greenway's are a winner in my book. Now trying to convience my wife about purchasing a ton because i just have 12 bags of OHP's left.

I agree, you really need to keep the stove clean to avoid the clinkers. As long as I stay on top of the cleaning the Greenways are a very good pellet. Once the stove reaches the tipping point all bets are off, the clinkers take over. I really think that most of the people that are having clinker issues this year are due to a dirty stove.
