A buddy of mine saw a picture of the new Blaze King wood stove and sent it to me...knowing I have a King. I can't believe it's from Blaze King because it doesn't look like their type of stove. Has anyone seen this? Is it catalytic? He had no details except to say it was new and they were introducing it this summer. How about some input?

Seems like most of the major stove companies have come out with a stove that looks like that. Hmmm............

i like it. im a contemporary era lover but with an open mind to other styles. it seems to have a small pad foot print and i would lilke to see full specs. knowing where it came from its no doubt got long burn time. looks like it could be appealing to stove owners that are into that style.when i get the chance to do some stove browsing to get my fix of new stove smell in, i hope to check the blaze king line out .

BBC- ask your buddy where he found that info.? I'm not finding anything, but thats not surprising.

I hear the King model requires 12" pipe, has a 10 cu ft firebox, trivet on top and pizza/bread oven underneath. Oh yeah, takes care of your dhw needs too.

Thanks--veeeeeeeeery interesting!

I'm trying to figure out if it's really a Blaze King.

On the minus side:

looks small

I can't see a deep firebox

Plus side:

maybe the firebox lip is hidden behind the door

the top looks like a modernized version of their convection deck

that may be a thermometer port in front of the flue

is that the Blaze King stencil on the lower left window?

Maybe this is smaller model, sized like the Princess, or even below?

Blaze King Big Baby? :)

Ain't ugly enough to be a BK !

Looks like a European stove with a five inch pipe to me.

I called 5095222730 and asked them. It is called Chinook (like a warm wind). It is new 2.7 cubic feet firebox. Almost as deep as their Princess. Holds about 4" of ash. The gal said it is 1.0 grams per hour. They willmbe unveiling it to the public soon...already in production. My bud got the image from a photographer...hope he does not get in dutch for posting the image on his web site.....

Cool! 100 Internets to you for spy shot/info of the year! (If true :) )

Maybe the stove is so big, it makes the 6" pipe look small. It always surprises me how small a double wall 8" pipe makes the King look, if there is nothing else in the shot to give scale.

Any word on thermostat?

It looks like side shields will be standard, bad news for those who want radiative heating in a big/drafty room. I suppose one could take the shields off, but then it's not as pretty. Cake, eat--pick one.

I'm designing my install to use external fans with a radiative stove, for lower noise than the built-in blowers. So I'm glad to the present King is designed with a no-shields option.

Good on BK for innovating. I hope they keep the Princess (and especially the King) available as they introduce new products.

Thanks again, BigBlockChevy!
