So I opened a new bag of Greene Team and found this (pic)

There were many pellets about 2", but this one was 3".
Has anyone ever seen pellets this large from them before ?

Geez. Had that problem with them last year but thought they had straightened it out. So much for premium.

Not that exact brand, but the American Wood Fiber's I have are averaging out at 2". Some upwards to 3".

i have already burned 2 tons of green team and just bought 30 more bags tonight, and have yet to see any pellets that size, usally they are on the short side, but so far im loving green teams as they are very clean and low ash, just hope i dont find pellets that long in the bags i bought today... :red:

This is the only down side to these I have found. But there aren't to many big ones,
I've just been breaking up the bigger ones.
Other than this the heat is amazing, very little ash, and fines.
This being said, they haven't jammed my stove yet, and i'll keep buying them.

I always thought (apparently mistakenly) that "Pellets" were like oversized pills, in shape......

When I first started burning I was using OHP's and they were like that. Since I was green I didn't know any better and burnt the first winter like that. Then I bought a ton of Somersets and really started seeing the advantages of a pellet stove.

Somersets are a good quality, small pellet. Everybody that I know has burnt them, liked them. Also, the price is right, $175/ton.

Had that issue at two times with PA Pellets. They were great about handling it, but it caused such an issue that we had to stop selling them.

We bought a couple bags of Southern Indiana Hardwood pellets from Lowes, just to see if at 187 dollars a ton, they were any good.Found the same thing you did.I added about 3 big coffee cans of these long pellets to my partially filled hopper to use them up slowly. They plugged the auger within 45 minutes.Had to vacuum them out.I'm sure glad I didn't buy a ton.Lowes would be getting them back.

If they won't take them back you could take a ball bat to a fe bags to vent your frustion and they might burn better.

Yes, I ran into that with Greene Team last year in at least several bags. I think it caused a jam in my Englander.

Interesting to hear it continues.

Ditto, my stove loves them as well, great heat, however I would say a fair amount are close to the 2" mark. Looking to get one more ton at Lowes in Danvers this week if that's what comes in. They sold 40 tons in 4 days last week!

Hello

Wow that is a long one!
