Hey Pellet Aficionados,

I have a Mt. Vernon AE installed '08 that has been saving me HUGE $$$ over Propane.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the differences are between the Pellet Fuel settings for all the choices; Hardwood, Softwood, Utility, Corn, Cherry Pits. Wondering about air intake, time between auto-cleaning, feed rate. That sort of stuff. I can't seem to find any documentation.

LOVE this stove and so does my house!

Thanks in advance!

oopsie on the cherry pits. Nothing on the menu for them but I'm told the stove can or will be able to burn them.

Corn
Utility
Sunflower Seeds
Softwood
Hardwood
Wheat

Here is a post I found from another site.

It list times starting with start up trough cycle times and max ignitor times.

I can't find any info on feed rates or air measurements.

sslow, ss med., max igniter time, A/C cycle time, shutdown time

corn 14 min 12 min. 14 min. 2.4 hrs. 10 min

ut. pell. 4 min 5 min. 4 min. 1.2 hrs 10 min.

softwood 4 min 5 min. 4 min. 3.2 hrs. 10 min.

sunflseeds4min 5 min 4 min. 2.4 hrs. 10 min.

wheat 10 min 10 min 10 min. 1.8 hrs. 10 min.

hrdwood 4 min. 5 min. 4 min. 2.1 hrs. 10 min.

A/C cycle times are estimated when the unit is running at the "high" output set.
and remember that the igniter comes on 1.5 min. before it even feeds. so add all times together for total igniter "on" time

Hope this helps somewhat!

I have mine set to "snowballs". Burns great.

But seriously folks...I dont see much of a difference with mine in the heat output settings 2-4(medium low to medium high) seem to do about the same thing. One thing I've noticed is my quad will go on the auto. time/temp settings automatically and I cant figure out how to stop it from doing that. So I had to manually adjust it so each timer setting is set for the same temp. I want to house to be. Dislike the time/set feature.

Set the temp you want and hit the hold temp button, this will eliminate the timed set back cycles.
