Am I crazy for doing this? (Pics of the New stove...it's HUGE)

I have been looking the past several months for a large stove to repace an old insert, which is vented directly into the chimney. I have been checking craigslist within 8 hours of my house as well as Ebay. I finally found a new, Jotul f600 with brown enamel. The stove has several small knicks on the enamel, but all very small. I saw all of the pics and spoke with the person. I have a return option if I am not satified. I have never bought on ebay so I was a little weary, but I ran it by several ebay regulars I know and they said I was ok with the person.

The other problem was getting the wife to agree. We just installed (in November) a Shelburne in an addition room without heat...best move we ever made.

My rationale for getting the stove....
1. We are an all electric house and rates are only going up. Also, effective 2012, we lose out on a substantial discount through PECO.
2. The insert we have is old, unsafe, and very inefficient.
3. We lost electric for 18 hours the other day and the insert didn't cut it, especially without blowers. With an infant, and God willing more someday, I don't want to worry..
4. Couldn't beat the price, even with shipping. Half of quotes from shops.
5. This stove is awesome!

Was I crazy for purchasing this stove?

Most of the areas needing touch up are on the back. One on the lower front, which is tough to even notice. No areas on top of stove.

It was listed as non catalytic.

Yes, I need to start on the wood asap! I have about 2 cords split since November. I have about 1 more in rounds. There are also several standing dead in woods I need to get to. And, craigslist scrounging...

The Shelburne I have had 2 minor spots needing touch up when bought. The dealer gave some touch up paint, and unless you are looking from 6 inches away, you barely notice.

I have never be so excited for a Monday to arrive!

It got here on Tuesday. I took some pics of the stove. The guy wasn't kidding when he said the nicks were small. I really had to look close to find some. I can't wait to get her installed. My son was just as excited as me. Also it was good to hear the wife said she loved it and it was so much better looking in person than the pics online. Some deals are as good as they sound.

Is the back of the stove cast as well or plate steel? I'm curious about the baffle and wondering how far it extends off the back of the stove. Great purchase btw. I've beeing eyeing the F600 for awhile now and your pictures are quite a bit different than those on the Joutl site. Let us know how she's doing once you get her installed.

The Shelburne has been great. Nothing wrong with it at all. It is in an addition room off the back of the house. Stove is a little larger than probably needed for the room but I preferred a slightly larger stove than needed to get longer burn times and maintain the heat in the room overnight. The heat from that room doesn't circulate to other parts of the house...only one doorway for it to get through. I try moving it, especially to our bedroom, but there are several areas it gets trapped.
