We have had the stove less than 2 weeks and it is a beast. It gets so hot you have to load it really fast. I had a really hot fire going yesterday and when I closed the bypass there was not tension like there usually is. Could the gasket on the bypass have fallen off or burned off? It seems like it is not latching properly and the cat is no longer glowing so I am thinking the flame is going out the back. Anyone have these issues?

Yes but not to that extent. I had to adjust the tension on the bypass door this season.
