I received a message asking for my opinion on the Drolet Sahara. After answering I figured I could help more people doing research by putting it here as well.

I like it. I bought it for the price / performance ratio. Got it from northern tool. There are other stoves that have a better burn time, and others that have a better price.
Im heating 1200 sq feet and this does fine. I have not run the heat pump since getting the stove. Im in NC so i havnt put it to the same test as others have. Since installation the temps have been low (high teens ) and highs in the 50s.
On that note I also didnt get set up with the best wood. Being late in the season there is only one place that I can get dry wood from (kiln dried). All the rest are selling fresh split and advertising it as seasoned because it was cut down a year ago. (wood doesnt season till you split it. Always ask when it was split. Even at that I turned several loads away because they obviously lied on the phone saying it was split a year ago.

The stove burn times
Ive kept it in the 600+ range for an hour tops
500+ up to 2.5 hours at a time max...and only once in a while
400+ 3 to 4 hours
By morning ...5-6 hours ... I have a few coals left. Not much. The stove is cool.
Im burning alot of pallets and softwood... very little hard wood.

Why did I buy this one
Price , burn time, looks
I wanted 5 hours at a decent price and I like the bay window.

Congrats on your purchase. Glad to hear it's living up to your expectations. You may get more morning coals once you get some better wood. I agree, the bay window is a nice feature.
