Been using my stove for about a month or so. Been sticking with the Auto settings and would like to venture out. Working great, just did not know if there was a better way

What do you guys use??? and why

US 6041 w/ OAK

with oak ?? Is it a pellet stove or wood , . If a pellet all My issues had to do with the bottom draft not pulled out enough, I usually have it pulled out all the way if I'm not home , Iv'e had the overflowing( Lava ) a few times when I cut back on the bottom pull draft do- hickey.

6041 w/OAK here. Somerset pellets only. I just use auto settings and have been perfectly happy with the stove's performance. I have not gone above 3, even on the coldest days and I have gone as long as 6 days between cleanings. My only complaint is noise and I'll look into dampening that when I do spring cleaning.

I will agree on the noise, a little more than I would like. avg a 2 or 3 but generally turn to 4 or 5 everyday when i get home from work for an hour just to heat everything up.

Been using Lignetics so far, have tried a few others but so far like the Ligs. I clean every weekend out of habit.

I use the auto settings as well the only thing i did was reduce the feed rate the low side from 2lbs per hour to 1.75lbs to try to clean the low side burn up when the t-stat kicks it to low burn

watersuppply,
I have a 6039 which is close to your stove, shares the control panel I believe. At least it looks the same however the run stratagy may be slightly different. I would read the manual, especially the control panel section. I have run in manual mode and I believe these settings are more for burning other fuels than pellets. I believe when you run manual mode you can change heat range and room fan speeds. The draft fan will run at 9 and youu adjust the draft with the manual damper under the burn pot. I played around the first year I had the stove and then again when I burned some grass pellets. I dunno, I never thought I made any big wonderful finds in delivering heat to the house. Get a good way to measure the air temps. coming from the stove and right down what changes you make and what temps. you experience. Another member here, scoop i think, had done some good work and listed some of it on the forum. I like running in auto because its reliable and easy for other family members to change. Oh and when you go back to auto from manual and you are still burning be aware you have to hit aux. up and down simultaneously causing the stove to shut down for a second. Hit on and go back to heat range desired. First time I did that and stove shut off after the LED said " bye"with flames cranking from my manual mode research was a cause for a few important body parts to constrict involuntarily and profainity to pour from my face
Good luck playing around!
