Enough already.

I really didn't need to wake up to the white stuff again. I know, 'its only February', but bring on the gardens, bikes, and fishing poles. At least I found some dry splits in my 'not ready for this year' pile.

Gabe

I hear ya,they say 1 to 4 inches and we now have six. :shut: l

I'm far to your west but I know what you mean.

To make some use of my time I walked in an cut 6 20" Ash over the last few weeks. All the snow had melted and the ground was still firm so I hauled 6 loads out this weekend. Now we've got 10" of snow again... I'm planning to walk in and cut again so I can take advantage of the few days between 'snow out' and 'swamp'... I feel like and idiot sweatting and feedin the insects getting wood in the Summer.

ATB,
Mike

Mike, I would love that. Instead, I live in suburbia on 1/4 acre, with sand/ salt covering everything.

Maybe when I retire................

About 10-12 inches here yesterday with lots of drifting. At least we had some warmer weather and some good melting a few days before this storm.

Finally broke down and paid to have the driveway plowed on Saturday. It has been snowing continuously since then. I have a lader leaing against my roof overhang, and the rungs are snowed up from one to the next. Never saw that before.

Lucky!

I love snow too, only got a Dust Job here. sucky. still plenty of snow out there tho, even after the meltdown

I can't complain, here in NE PA, we have been spared. Last nite they changed the forcast to 6-8 inches. I got up at 3:30 am for work and there was about 8 inches of snow and still coming down heavy. I have never stayed home from work because of snow. Hell I never take a sick day either. When I worked at a hospital you had to go in no matter what. In the blizzard of 93 they sent people out in 4 wheel drive vehicles to pick you up.
Well I drive a Honda Civic and I had quite the interesting drive to work but made it there in one piece. All the patients cancelled but 4. We have an old Range Rover that sits pretty in the garage because the :p HUSBAND needs to get a new muffler. That mother is getting out so I can drive it to work in the snow and not kill myself in the civic.

Gamma, when I was in the hospital earlier this month, I talked to more than one who told me they sent people out with 4wd's so they could have enough workers. There was a good amount of snow fell that night but the wind made it much worse. I looked out the window several times and the snow was going horizontal! You know what that means...

Sigh . . . around this time of year I start to get a bit sad . . . while my wife gets a bit happy . . . warm stretches of weather melting the snow . . . ruining the snowmobile trails and turning the beautiful white blanketed fields and woods a depressing muted brown, white and black mess . . . oh well . . . it's the circle of the seasons . . . when spring comes it will come . . . sooner or later . . . and it matters not one wit as to whether my wife or I wish the season to speed up or go slower.

We've had more then our normal snow fall this year. We got another 8+ with drifting Sun into Monday. Heavy and wet by later in the afternoon when I decided to tackle the shoveling.

It's pretty - but I am so done with it and can't wait for spring. We had 60 on Friday, Sat 40-60 mph wind with bone chilly temps, Sunday was decent to a blizzard on Monday. ENOUGH!!!!

I need to finish my wood pile !!! I don't want to wood processing to compete with my fishing once the ice melts!

Could not have said it any better :coolsmirk:

My daughter's college has instituted an emergency calling system that alerts families--great idea in theory. In practice, three time zones west of her, it meant that I was awakened at 3 a.m. by a digitized voice informing me that her first class of the day had been cancelled, and again at 5 to learn that all classes had been cancelled. I felt a bit miffed; anything that results in a Facebook announcement of a Buffy-the-Vampire-Slayer marathon is not what I think of as an emergency. By a satistfactory coincidence, my driveway had blown shut as well, and we are enjoying not just one, but two-in-a-row snowdays here. Wahoo! I'm enjoying a clean house and a few days to just relax, and a little extra time hanging out at hearth.com . . .

Bring it on!! we are not ready to stop sledding yet!!! Kids all got new snow tubes from L.L Bean for Xmas and they are having a blast. (and so am I)
