What's all this talk of the heating season as if were something in the past? At 7:00AM it was reported to be -34°C (I was still sleeping) and they are calling for a high of -14°C today. I had to do some hot ash removal this morning so that I can get more heat from this stove. It felt a little fresh to say the least, going out for the ash pail.

Crazy dog, not content to be outside alone, wants me to be out there with her. I got enough "fresh" for a while. Zap, go knock your socks off out there. Think I'll just enjoy the warmth of the fire.

Fickle weather time here. We're back to burning 24/7 for several days now. 21F in Seattle this morning, 5F in Olympia. At dawn I had to thaw out the hummingbird feeder and start the greenhouse stove, before coffee! And to think that last week I was contemplating mowing the lawn. :-S

Lately I don't even shovel the inch or two of snow we get every week. It will all melt in two days anyway. Two weeks ago we had highs in the 50's F. Gotta love winter...or is it spring...I'm confused. I'm not gonna think about it and load the stove.

Tony

41° here today. 57° tomorrow. 61° Monday. Then we bounce around from the low 40s to mid 50s.

Shoulder season. I has it.

Yes sir BrowningBar....Looks like we have made it to shoulder season... Thank god, I can now burn up all the chunks, punks, and brush I have out back.

That ought to teach you a good lesson. Telling us about all those flowers and grass growing. Now there are hummingbirds already. Get out there and shovel some snow! :cheese:

LOL, nature is doing that for us today. First time above freezing in a few days. 40F and I hear the icicles melting. It's a nice sound.

63 degress and sun today, didn't load the stove this morning since it was 77 in the house :)

I think the wife is suffering cabin fever. Last evening it had dropped to -21°C and she wouldn't let me put any more wood on the stove. Dunno... maybe she thinks it encourages the cold. Woke up to a cold stove and -14°C and she still wouldn't let me burn.

Finally, about an hour ago she let me light up. Good thing cuz it's supposed to drop down to -24°C. Winter ain't over 'til it's over.

It was -15* Friday night and -10* last night. The Liberty has been buring 24/7 for the last week. With my boiler down, it is keeping the house pretty much up to temp. Propane is heating the hot water and basement.

I just checked the NOAA website cause I knew it was getting warm. At 5:51 it was 92!!! Hell we are through with winter and the day we had spring, it was nice...

Not worried about shoulder season, end of burning season or the sound of ice melting anytime soon here.
Iron dog just finishing up, Fur Rondy just started, Iditarod starts next month & April has the Arctic man,
so we are a few months from burning season ending.
Having some sun & longer daylight is nice though :)

15°f, sunny, 30 to 45 mph winds, blowing snow, Very nice day here. :)

PS: BeGreen, that will teach you to start talking about mowing your grass LOL  We need a picture, of that mowed lawn.
I admit, seeing some green grass would be nice, but we'll have to leave it to you for pictures for a while yet.

Snow's all gone now, green grass is showing again, but from the weather forecast it looks like it will be too wet to mow for a while now. Fine by me, I'm in no hurry.

I have a Bro-in-law in Kent. Said it's colder than normal & what is this white stuff? City almost shut down. LOL

well, here comes my 2 cents. overnight low onf friday was -22f. overnight low of saturday was -21f. but nice to see pics with green in them

HaHa BeGreen, I did mow some time back, just once to knock the top off. As of today we still have two inches of snow on the front lawn. Still trying to burn 24/7, too cold in our house...

Gotta get some insulation in that house!

Inch or two . . . just a dusting . . . I never bother to plow or clean off the porch if there is only an inch or two.

I'm with you 1" does not register on the to do list. It snowed 2' yesterday and is -29 today. A little cool but not to far out of the ordinary. Now when I get 1" in July I do notice it.

It was freezing in the double digits last night and the wife wouldn't let me keep the fire going. Woke up to -23°C and a cold stove. :,(

Stove's been cold all day and she won't let me light it now. :,(

I'm not following. What are the house temps and what is heating it?
