Well it would appear that I am receiving a happy return or blessing. I run a Tree Service and have given a lot of wood away. This week I have run out of seasoned wood. We recently moved (July) in to a nice old home and since we did not know where we would end up I did not want to stock up a bunch of wood. So I asked a good friend of ours if we could purchase or trade them for some of the wood I gave to them almost two years back. The reply was "you do not owe anything just come get what ever you need." So I will go see what they have available. It is not easy for me to do this because I try to heat with wood, my friends do not so it is not such a big deal to them. I know that I need to receive graciously as that is what makes it a gift, but giving comes easier to me than receiving. I guess this is one of those moments in life where you grow a little... :-/

recieving is always harder than giving, but it is harder to try and give someone something for free and have the reciever insist on paying for it. Remeber friends don't come easy so if he doesn't want anything for the wood you will have to repay him without him knowing it is the only decent thing you can do.

Good begets good and evil begets evil . . . those who are kind, good and caring will be richly rewarded in time . . . and those who are bad, selfish and uncaring will in time have their just "reward." Clearly your "investment" in an act of kindness is making a good and timely return for you. Relish the friendship you have made.

Just remember the joy you got from giving it to them ??? Allow them the same joy in giving it to you. I am also a big giver... but a wise man (my father) once told me to allow him the joy of giving to me. Thats when I relized why I like to give so much, and that I should be more willing to recieve at times to allow others the same pleasure.

Thanks to all yous guys, I have picked up the wood and it is premium. It has been under cover in big splits and halves. I have split it smaller and the fresh sides are dry as could be. The wood is light as a feather and solid like rock, it has the bowling pin sound too. The story behind the trees is that I climbed them about two years back and had to get rid of the wood. The trees were Douglas Fir about 185ft. tall, arrow straight, and 2-1/2 - 3ft. at the base. For those unfamiliar with these big boys you might imagine a really big telephone or utility pole with some branches starting around 50ft. up. The wood rates good to excellent on the BTU scale at about 26 million/cord. This type of wood is fairly desirable here in Washington. I climbed all three trees in one long day with temperatures in the high 80's so I had some serious effort in the job. It really feels good to get a little blessing and the more I think about it the more acceptable it is to receive. I can not say how good it feels! :)

So lets hear some of your stories about good will or blessings you have received.
