they got 11 pallets today, bought a ton and placed 10 bags in my Civic to pick up the rest between today/tomorrow using mini van.

How many bags have you hauled in a mini van, i have a Toyota Sienna 04 and thinking about getting 30 more bags tonight and then the other remaining 10 bags tomorrow on my work to work using the Civic.

BTW - this time the stove chow is lighter in color compared to the ones i bought at home depot and which i didn't like that much.

Hoping this IS the stove chow people like.

Also, a few people grabbing/buying so i think they will not have anything left tomorrow.

regular price is $209 minus a 10% coupon, so $188/ton.

If you haven't bought the MWP then hold on, will let ya know.

I will test this chow tonight and really hoping they burn good. Wondering if i can haul 40 bags in the mini van..... :)

No not yet, They aren't open Mondays. Wife was going to stop when she heads to Litchfield later this week or early next. I am getting 6 for myself anyways. So no biggie if you do or don't want some.

40 in the mini? Might be pushing it. How long is the ride?

the ride is about 19 miles.

The Stove Chow I bought from my HD was medium brown, not as light as the Penningtons, but not as dark as the Fireside Ultras I bought this past weekend at HD. Stove Chows burned great for me, minimal ash and lots of heat, hardly any fines in each bag. I'd buy them again without question and burn them exclusively if any of the big box stores stock them in the future, especially at under $4/bag.

I have a 2011 Honda Odyssey and I was able to haul 30 bags of Stove Chow 14 miles (10 highway miles + 4 residential miles). No problems whatsoever. I probably could have hauled another 5-8 bags, but I didn't want to press my luck.

Whts the date on the chow? Should be top left corner where a black line is
My pellet llc sells.half ton of mwp for 125
J- are you saying 6 ton?

Well, if you really think about it, not much different than hauling around few overweight beer buddies. Just place 6 bags per seat location evenly around the van and you have the pellet version of a tailgate party... ;-)

In my van that would be 30 bags, plus beer. I think I hauled 25 without any problems.

Edit - the only thing that will get you in trouble fast are bad tires or bad brakes. Please take these into consideration when you make your decision.

No, That's like almost 2 seasons worth for me and not enough storage space. 6 bags for a good long burn. sometmes 2 bags isn't enough of a test.

I hauled 25 bags in my 2000 Honda Odyssey. I could have left the wife and added three more bags! I made two trips for one ton of pellets. The store is only a few miles from my house.

I think one key is to distribute the weight as evenly as possible including bags in the middle seats. I figure it is the same as having 4-250 pound men in the back of the van.

I've managed to stuff 30 bags into my wife's RAV4, fortunately my HD is only 4-5 miles away from where I live, so it's not like I'm hauling that heavy load very far, and the roads are nice and smooth with minimal turning. Now that I have a full-size pickup, hauling a full ton in the bad or 2-3 tons on a heavy duty trailer would not be an issue.

I will try 30, will have to leave 10 bags for tomorrow, hopefully they will save them for me.

I buy nothing but Hamer's from the Agway in Danbury. For $250 a ton, i don't even blink. Best pellet I have put through my machine...

how did your stove like the taste of that chow?

just came back from lowes and hauled 30 bags in the mini van, no problems.
I started burning this batch of stove chow from last night and it is burning much better than the ones i purchased at home depot a while back, much better. cleaner glass, good heat, low fines and ash is acceptable.

Windsor/Enfield is a bit of a ride, Torrington is on my way home. I can wait until they restock them. Not a major deal as I do have plenty but just wanted one more to fill the stash for next season. Thanks for the offer though.
How are they burning for you?
