Yup, I can confirm the Curans were $187 here about a month ago. Figured the low price was because they are just north of us. Guess not.

That is an amazing price jump!

Happens every year. They start them high, Have a mid season sale and Then back to high when the season ends.

Don't buy them! Check your local pellet house's, They probably have pellets for less!

surprised this time of year there is a big demand. i figured that would be dropping off. sounds like a scam to me. IMHO supply and demand in the pellet biz is a crock of s#^% it dont cost them anymore to make the things and if anything they dont have the inventory sitting around reducing their overhead. Gas/Diesel, thats a different thing. Were relying on foreign countries and wall street for that.

Just got two ton of fireside ultra from lowes last week for 210/ton.

I would look elsewhere if they were 300/ton.

Called who in Ct?, Sunday Enfield had ZERO, Bloomfield has none, Lowes said they should be getting some Friday....

Maybe I should buy that ton of American Wood Fiber for $235. I have none. Stoves not installed yet but it will be by next season.

i called Bloomfield on march 1 they said they were out and done for the season

CJs in manchester, http://www.cjspellets.com/ has a decent selection. Mind you, they are certainly not $187/ton, they are $260-$270/ton.

I just got a ton of somersets for 209, so not so bad here ..

bristol HD, plainville lowes are all out.

Wasn't gasoline around $4/gallon last time pellets were $280+/ton.

gas IS $4 a gallon here... just a few cents shy.

Yeah no kidding and pellet here are ~$450 a ton.

Called all the local HD's and they were done for the season! Lowes said maybe tomorrow. I was not waiting for tomorrow. Went up to our Amish store and bought a ton of Ligs for 199;.only up $10 since Christmas.

You can't always go by the phone call's. My co worker called his local HD and they said they had none. He stopped by to get something else for the house. Was surprised to see over 10 ton's in the garden center and another 30 bags on an open pallet in the store.

I called my local Lowes and they said "they think they have some". I stopped on my way home and nada! Good thing its not that far out of the way. :shut:

Yes, you have to go back to the stores and check for yourself. Customer services stink! Walked into a Lowes that said they were not getting any more pellets and found 10 tons of Infernos (worst POS I have ever burned!).

that, or could the possiblility being their contracts may have expired and they are now forced to buy on the open market? Possibly trying also to take advantage of the fuel situation? Our suppliers havent reaised their pricing yet....none of them.....so, still think Lowe's is your friend? :cheese:

Only when they have them on sale. :cheese: They get to gouging and I will go to my old reliable pellet house. And when I call them they know what they got, How much they cost and how much they have on hand.

Bigbox could careless if your running low, Ma and Pa pellets have em in stock all season long. Ya I might pay a bit more but I know where I can get em this time of year!
