It isn't so.

Look at the cat test results on their website and the fact that Backwoods Savage dyed in the wool cat burner loves'em.

Edit: Sorry. I was totally wrong. Please email me and I will give you my mailing address and you can send those nasty cat killing things to me for proper disposal. :cheese:

I break mine up smaller than a quarter of a whole and it works every time. I'd start with a quarter and on future starts try less. I think I get 6 or 8 starts from one.

Yes, the Savage does like the Super Cedars and yes, we have a cat stove. One of the best things I like about them is now Mrs. Savage can start her own fires, which has always been her weakest point.

Regardless of who starts the fire, we find that 1/4 of a SC is plenty to get the fire going.

Are you aware how long a whole Super Cedar will burn??!! I have not tried them in water yet but may have to just out of curiosity.

I split mine into quarters, then split one quarter in half and put them between medium sized splits... no kindling required. They are a wonderful product!

Takes a couple days. They're very fast shippers. Something went astray, so email them and they'll take care of it.

Just ordered the 100 ct, I hope I'm good for a couple decades!

:)

You may find other uses. They are also great for starting charcoal for your grill or smoker.

I wouldn't mind a try myself. But for the stove, heck I haven't done but one restart since first week of January and both times it was because I installed a new stove. Maybe in a couple of weeks when the cold days are getting rare I'll have a need.

and Kayaking...
They did get wet (naked type/packaging) in salt water and STILL lit off with a match!

NOTE - not a salesman, just a very happy camper/customer.

where can i get my free sample of these so i can give the wife somthing to complain about?

greythorn3, just send Tom an email. Look in the above posts and you'll find it.
