Why would my stove use more pellets on 2/9, then it does on 3/9 ? It is pretty warm on #3, but if it is going to use less pellets, then I guess it is what it is. I tried changing the pellet feed and it really does not make a difference...

When it isn't freezing out I run mine on 2-3 or 3-3 and I seem to use a definite less amount on 2. Never even had it on 9 on either setting. I have had it up to say 7-7 and it doesn't seem any warmer than 5-5. I think 6-6 was the highest I ran it for any length of time.

Chris, refresh my memory on what year that stove was made. And what are your lower 3 buttons set at?

2009, factory settings were 6-4-1
currently have them at 5-2-1

was it ever confirmed that the bottom 3 buttons only effect heat settings #1 & # 2 or do those effect all heat settings?

Mike Holton confirmed that on the newer models (including yours), changing the lower button settings DO have an effect on the higher settings too.

Have you done the control board diagnostic test? If not, you might want to try it just to confirm the board is running as it should:

www.englanderstoves.com/help/PelletStove/diagnostic_mode04.html

Ok, did the test. the only thing that is different on mine then what shows in the pictures is step 1, mine shows 8 / 0. Pictures shows 8 / 4.

other than that is all corresponds.

As Englander mentions in that first step, the number could change. I think you're good to go.

Chris, one more thing to check just for the heck of it. The PDVC is supposed to be set at Mode D. Mode C would make the stove burn more pellets.

If you want to double check it, the procedure is as follows:

1….Start with a cold stove
2…..unplug it
3…..plug it back in.....within 2 sec`s press both blower speed arrows at the same time and then release them.....you will see a letter in the heat range window (If you`re slow and miss the timing just unplug it and start over).
4….If it is a letter C, press the up arrow to change it to D

yes it is in "d"

I guess it is no big deal, still love the stove and better than my kozi
