Harman Invincible Insert Distribution Blower Problems

I have an older Harman Invincible insert just changed the combustion blower last month. Now my distribution blower is running and not running. The stove's distribution blower will shut down and then after a while kick back on. When it has shut down I have turned it off and tried it in test mode and the blower doen't kick back on. Then when I turn it back on it kicks in after about 5-10 minutes. The blower was making noise a couple of weeks ago but noise has stopped. I don't know if the motor is shot, it heats up and maybe shuts down, the ESP probe is no good or the circuitboard is shot. Was wondering which path to take.

could be any of the above! Firstly, I would make a pigtail, plug the distribution fan into line voltage (the wall), and see if it continues to run for a long time (over 5-10 minutes)....if so, it isnt the fan (and probably isnt anyhow)......there is no good way to test the ESP probe OR the circuitboard on the Invincible, so, I would suggest getting a new probe first (cheaper), and if that doesnt rectify the situation, a new circuitboard!

Ditto what Lousyweather said. There may be a thermal cutout in the motor that is shutting the motor down. Running it directly with a pigtail will show the motor is good or bad. The motor has vents in it to cool it - they do get plugged with dust and animal hair and whatever. A good cleaning of the motor might just cure your problems. That includes cleaning the windings out so cooling air can get through. The motor could have bad bearings, also. Some motors are repairable, some aren't. If I were to bet, that's where I'd put my 2¢.

Bench test the motor with line voltage. There is a chance that the motor may cut out when is gets hot under use if the coil is bad. That is rare with this motor. If the motor tests out fine, the esp is bad. In test mode, all motors should go "ON" for 45 seconds then each motor should go on independently. If you are not getting the distribution motor "ON" during test mode, there is a chance that the the board is fried. If the motor tests ok doing a bench test but the motor doesn't come on during the test cycle from the board immediately...you are going to need a new board. If you get a new board, make sure you update your ESP probe as well for good measure.

Do not relocate the ESP probe. Also, the combustion motor has NOTHING to do with the ESP not working insofar as cooling the probe.

I have one more quick question in regards to the Double paddle fan blades (combustion blower). Should some of them be extended out or should they all be in of equal lenth. Thanks

extended how much? the stock ones were all roughly the same length

The impeller in the above picture lookslike no Harman impeller I've ever seen..........aftermarket changeout?
