I never really considered the KE/PE to be radiant stoves though all stoves are a combination to some extent.

The real question is how do they go from 20 hours burntime on the 2.85 CF Princess to 30 hours on the 2.75 CF catscan? Either they made some actual changes or their marketing department needs a catscan.

I can't speak for the KE/PE stoves but my old Royal Heir has dual paddle fans, so they have used them in the past.

Maybe the same person that typed up the minimum heat btu's also put the 30 hours in.

They are also listing emissions at 1 gr/hour, so maybe that goes hand in hand with the low slow burn. It appears from the information provided on their web site that the air goes through the firebox at an angle, so it does appear they have been fine tuning the burn on this stove.

I probably don't fully understand the difference between a radiant stove and a convection one, but unless the optional shields are in place, the KE/PE is mostly a radiant stove. Even equipped with the ultra package and convection deck, the front of the stove is radiant, and the front 1/3 of the top is radiant, and I believe there is no shield on the bottom. The Royal Heir is completely shielded with the exception of the loading door, and it appears as though the Chinook is also. Many of the old ashley and riteway stoves were completely encased in an outer steel cabinet, and that is what I consider a convection stove. Any time there is a portion of the firebox steel exposed, radiant heat flows from it, even if the fan air does pass over it.

The dealer in Yakima WA just attended the industry show in Salt Lake. The firebox is different than the Princess stove and uses a different combustor. The dimensions inside are all together, so it is a new model he says ground up.

It is rated at 1.0 grams an hour and because it is nearly the size of the Princess but has a lower peak heating capacity, it can actually heat much longer. As for the marketing spin mentioned here, he says no customer that has purchased a Blaze King has ever complained that their stove would not do as advertsied. I think one posetr here is correct.....they undersell the product and get no complaints.

How much are they? He did not have pricing yet.
