Hello I usually post in the wood shed or gear where we sponsor hearth but I need some ideas. I am looking to add a wood burning furnaces in our base ment that will hook into out current duct work. Just looking for ideas this house is only around 1500ft.

Great idea. Search the forum and you will find all sorts of ideas. Narrow it down to what you think you want to do, or an option or two, then come back with questions once you have worked your plan out as far as you can. Lots of info, many questions just like yours, and lots of responses. Good luck.
Yes have done some looking and now looking to talk about the unit. What is currenty the best price on the smaller units that will take care of small homes. I did not even know I could do this with my current duct work until I looked around here.

I'm looking too (have been forever). There are a few good options, and look like a few bad ones.
I'm looking at a Biomass 40, myself. I have a somewhat leaky 1600 sft log home. I like the Biomass because it's negative pressure, seems to have good tolerance of wood moisture variation, and has a good rep so far. Less expensive than some other options as well.

One that I have sold for smaller homes is the Mini Caddy. Caddys aint cheap but they make a hell of a furnace. Check them out on

d.s.machine stove makes very good furnace .just got done installing in shop also have smaller units.you can see ours on you tube under bodyshop18336
