Great idea. Search the forum and you will find all sorts of ideas. Narrow it down to what you think you want to do, or an option or two, then come back with questions once you have worked your plan out as far as you can. Lots of info, many questions just like yours, and lots of responses. Good luck.
 
I'm looking too (have been forever). There are a few good options, and look like a few bad ones.

I'm looking at a Biomass 40, myself. I have a somewhat leaky 1600 sft log home. I like the Biomass because it's negative pressure, seems to have good tolerance of wood moisture variation, and has a good rep so far. Less expensive than some other options as well.
 
One that I have sold for smaller homes is the Mini Caddy. Caddys aint cheap but they make a hell of a furnace. Check them out on

They retail for about $2900 with the fan limit switch. You may be able to work out a better deal if you walk into your local PSG dealer and talk to them. If you want to know how forum readers feel about the caddy, just search "caddy" and start readin.
