There was a post this week from somebody who has air tanks set up. Nice set up.Do a search it should be on this page or next. Got me to thinking about using them when the time comes. Propane tanks are tough to come by due to "liability issues" around here.

I used new air tanks in my system for several reasons. The are new so no work cleaning out propane tanks, or worry about rust pin holes, or other damage.
The tanks are vertical which stratifies better, and they already have a base. There are many threaded ports on the tank including on the bottom which I plumbed for drainage,
so no cutting and welding in ports. The tanks I got are rated for 200 psi, so no worries there. And the shape/size worked better for my application.

Here's a cut sheet on the tanks I used.

NYEDGE, can you give me more details on those tanks - who's the manufacturer? Where did you get them? About how much do they cost? Thanks and nice looking setup!

I picked up my tanks from a supplier in Massachusetts because they gave me the best deal on the tanks.
As for pricing, I suggest that you search online and locally to find a supplier in your area for the best price and pick them up. If they are shipped to you, the price is just to much.
Here's a picture of the plate on the tanks. I found that only a few manufacturers names were being mentioned by the various suppliers I spoke to, so it seems that the quality and workmanship in tanks is pretty similar from supplier to supplier, because they are basically re-selling tanks from a company that just fabricates.
