My local Lowe's in Charleston, WV packed up their remaining pellets and put them on the top rack for next winter! I guess they would get some down if you wanted to buy some. Obviously they are not too interested in dropping the price too low. I think the lowest price they went to was $4.40 per bag.

Our temps are in the 30's at night and 50-60's during the days. I only have 6 bags left and I think I am OK.

The local big box stores can't compete with a local supplier that has a regular price of Pennington Nature's Heat for $175 per ton and Statesman Hardwood Heat for $199 per ton. Even with a $35 delivery charge, they have the big box stores whipped.

Hello

Our Lowe's that opened in Nov 2010 sells wood pellets

Starting price was:
$5.97 per bag

Then went on sale for:
$3.74 per bag

Then the sale was
$4.18 per bag

Right now they are:
$4.68 per bag

the bLowes near me never went below $5.95 per bag over the last year. I want some of what they were smoking.

It's just pure greed! Sickening greed! LOL!

Then again, Lowe's ended up with a large unsold inventory so their greedy scheme seems to have back-fired! Isn't the free market a beautiful thing!

You should drop the thought on them that this summer's humidity will turn their treasured stash into mush before next winter so their $6 a bag mush won't be worth diddly. At least, plant the seed and watch their face show worry.

Funny that you mention that. While this Lowe's had them wrapped tightly in plastic on the pallets high on the racks, another Lowe's was storing their supply outside in the garden area under a canopy. The bags were all wet from a recent rain. The guy in Lawn and Garden assured me they were totally dry inside the plastic bags! HA HA! Just more reasons to take my business elsewhere. Lowe's obviously is not interested in being a pellet provider here in West Virginia!
