Got the T5 a little too warm for comfort this am, burning some store bought wood because i am out of seasoned stuff. Mixed with a couple of wetter oak let it go and had secondarys even from air manifold at front door. stove cooled after a bit and it stopped. I'm so glad i got the blower it cooled things down. still learning this stove

Are you running a stove top thermometer? If so...what were you seeing for temps?

It's probably fine. The stove can take the heat. It's good to get used to the stove before the season ends. Next winter, you will be burning it like this regularly. It really helps to have a thermometer directly on the stovetop, under the trivet.

Thanks guys, i have a thermometer on the stove top under trivets just in front of pipe. it was 700 deg glass is clean for sure

My t5 loves to be around 650. So I wouldn't be worried about it. Just make sure you watch that stove top temp and close the air down appropriately. The secondaries on that firebox creates quite a show.
