Good Evening all-

I have a 2006 2200 sq foot englaner model stove. Yesterday I came downstairs to the stove off...I went to restart it and noticed that the lower auger was not moving. I did not have time yesterday to look at it, so today I came home and tore it apart. I think I either had a jam in the auger or a vacuum line problem. FYI...the vac line came undone from the top switch when I was removing the augers. When I took all the pellets out and reinstalled the bottom auger, it worked. Problem is that now the top auger is not moving.

I know it was working yesterday prior to pulling the stove apart today. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the vacuum switch, but I am unsure of where it should be ect. If anyone has any info on this, it would be great!

Thanks!

I should have mentioned....I have switched the lower auguer wires and put them on the top auger and it did move as it should have if it were the lower auger(continuously)

The bottom one did not move when hooked up to the upper auguer wires.

Did you take that auger out as well? Maybe the set screw that holds the auger motor to the auger is loose and is not turning the auger. Also make sure you double check that you put the wiring back together properly (check for loose/missed wires) and everything is good and tight. And of course check the pressure / vacuum switch hoses to make sure they are clean and making good connection with the switch.

When checking the upper auger wiring to the lower auger did you have the hopper open?

If so the feed gets shut down also if the vacuum switch doesn't close it won't run.

The top auger is wired to that vacuum switch, so if there is a loss of vacuum, that auger will stop.

Since it was working before, my guess is that either the vacuum hose is cracked, isn't attached tightly, or is connected to the wrong port on the switch. I guess it's possible the vac switch went bad, but I doubt it. First thing I'd try would be switching the hose, unless you're SURE you put it back on the correct port.

If that doesn't work, and the hose is good, try removing both wires from the vac switch (AFTER unplugging the stove!), and connect them together (tape connection), and then plug back in and try it.

Here's the info on the vac switch from Englander:

First, bench test the motors in question. If a motor is bad, a good visible sign is that the cellophane tape wrapping the copper coil will be an orangeish/brownish tinge. It should be clearish/white. Stuff that interrupts the upper auger: hopper lid switch, foward pressure switch wired in normally closed with hose on black nipple, exhaust vacuum switch wired in normally open with the hose on the gray nipple, make sure air can flow through the barbs that the hoses connect to on the machine (attach hose and blow), lastly, review the wiring diagram pasted to the service panel and make sure all is wired correctly.

The OP already stated that he switched the power wires on the 2 augers and the both auger motors work when hooked to the lower auger power leads.....just no juice to the upper auger leads.
