I can't seem to find any pellets I really want to buy locally. I've done tons of research but can't find anyone reasonably nearby. I'm looking for Okies, Barefoots, Cubex or Hamers for next year. I'm really only looking for these 4 brands though. Anyone know vendors for these pellets close to Monticello NY? Thx!!!

Thanks Smokey. I tried that, the closest they show is still too far for me, same thing for Okies. Sometimes I've seen smaller vendors that aren't listed as dealers on their web sites. I was hoping to find a little gem in my backyard that I didn't know about.

Neversink,

Are there any feed or farm supply stores in your area?

I'd try calling some of them as they sometimes carry various pellets but they don't always directly buy from a pellet mill.

We do have a tractor supply kinda close. I could try them. The local farm supply store seems to get their pellets from the "big boys" so I don't have a choice in variety.

I live in Monticello and there are only a handful of places that I know of to get pellets, home depot, tractor supply, agway in liberty and Monticello, trading post in liberty, rock hill and monticello, rogers small engine and a private dealer in neversink that sells pa pellets. also cochecton mills in callicoon. I'm sure there have to be more as it seems people in this area are starting to hop on the pellet train.

Minakena,

I know Rogers only sells NEWP. Agway in Monticello doesn't carry any of the brands I'm looking for. I could try the Agway and Tractor Supply in Liberty. Have you ever seen Okies, Barefoots, Cubex or Hammers there?

No I haven't . I am still hoping someone will carry those brands in this area as I would also be eagewr to try them. I forgot to add good ol walmart for pellets and also woodbourne lawn and garden and fallsburg lumber

D you know what brands Woodbourne lawn & garden and Fallsburg Lumber sells?

There's a mill in Deposit. Don't know what kind they make.
It's owned by NEWP.....they're not producing pellets yet, although they had a few thousand tons stacked outside around the plant the last time I was past there a few weeks ago.

Woodbourne was selling Pennigton oak which seemed to burn quite well and Fallsburgh is selling Spruce point pellets which is a softwood . I tried them also which they didn't throw much heat for me.

I went to Fallsburg Lumber yesterday and picked up a few bags of the Spruce Pointe's. I've heard really good things about them. J-Takmans test showed some really good heat on these. I'll probably try them this weekend. If they burn as good as I've heard, I'll probably do a spring buy for atleast 4 tons, maybe more. Thanks for the tip minakena!
