Hey does anyone have a service manual for a stihl 056av Got one given to me, its having a oiler issue Thanks

go here:
http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/72322.htm

if you don't want to register to beg for the manual, then send me a PM and I'll do the begging for you. great site if you run into problems anyway, so it's totally worth it to register.

Looks like you pick up those two 056's?

If you don't find what you want elsewhere, I've got the dealers tech manual for the 045AV. Sthil 045 is the same saw as the 056. Just a little older with a different nameplate.

045, 045 Super, 056, 056 Magnum are all built on the same basic platform.

Stihl 045AV is 75 ccs, 4.57 c.i. 045 Super is 87 ccs.
Stihl 056 AV is 4.94 ci. or 81 ccs. Some later ones are 87 ccs.
Stihl 056 Magnum or Magnum II has a 56 mm bore. 94 ccs.
Stihl 056 AV Super is 2 1/8†bore or 54 mms.

Danno The begging worked I got a parts list and service manual and got the problem fixed. 8.00 bucks at the stihl dealer for the worn part saw has 140+ lbs compression and screams lol She is a heavy beast but came with a 32" bar and almost new stihl chain not bad for free lol
Cut up a big pin oak with it yesterday and worked like a champ stihl dealer said they were not very popular saws must be the weight. But will say they are a power house.

I can't speak for the Sthil dealer you spoke to. I worked for five different Stihl dealers from 1969 up to 1992. Out of all the pro-saws we sold, the 045-056-075 series was by far, the most popular. We sold many, and today many are still in use.
