In The Woods
It turned out to be a great day for hauling and stacking wood (quaking aspen) for the shoulder season, all this wood was c/s last fall.

Attached are some pictures from todays work, picture 2765 is what I hauled down last night and one load today before we brought the truck back and the rest are from the woods and the stacking.

looks good Zap. So what do you think that will bring the total cord count to?

I think at this time we have about 1.2 cord stacked, that includes the other aspen stacked since last year near the house. I still have two good size trees plus plenty of rounds that will be added to this so I'm thinking 2.5 or 3 cord.

I think the deer was taking a little rest back on the pine needles behind the stacks. Real soon the wild leeks will be up and the deer will be pounding down the greens until they get to strong.

Wait a sec. picture 2764, what the heck are you using to split? Those splits don't look like anything I have done so far.

I wanted some square splits for stacking on the ends (never used to many for that) plus when loading the stove I found out it's nice for your last splits going on top.

I used the MTD 20 Ton Vertical/Horizontal splitter.

Looks like Spring finally came to the north country. Looks like we have another nice one today.

Looks really nice. Looks like you had some nice weather to work with. I only got in about 3.5hrs here before it started raining.

Great day certified106, I think the high was in the low 60's so I had a nice day in the woods from 10:00 am to 5:30 which included the stacking by the house.

Once I was done stacking we had some nice barbeque or barbecue chicken from the grill. Heading back in today so I can haul out more of that aspen plus I found some downed cherry and sugar maple. I'm starting to smell the wild leeks coming up.
