Wonder how they will feel about this when someone gets killed.

"Wood Stove believed to be a antique. Jotul 602 wood stove. There are some cracks in stove but when stove is fired up the cracks go away. "

I'd pay forty bucks for it. would make a nice side table with storage next to my recliner. no joke.

But if you set a hot cup of coffee on it, those cracks will go away?

Crack kills.

Holy crap Batman! That crack is the whole side of the thing, What you think the rest of the stove looks like! I didn't like it when the Nashua got a tiny 1/4" long crack that was still covered by the door. This thing is about ready to bust in half and they think its something other than scrap steel?

There is a crack across the back of the stove too. See pics in the ad.

Someone will probably buy the stove fill the firebox full, light it off and it will split the rest of the way in half. Hope we don't hear about this on the news next year.

Is tat tare one of those duble wall epa stoves ware all the heat goes up the chiminey?
Nuttin tat jb weld couldent fix!

Egads . . . amazing what some folks think stuff is worth . . . and sadly what some folks will pay . . . since you just know someone will buy it thinking they got a great deal, attempt to "weld" it or use JB Weld as HotCoals mentioned, paint it up and run it in their home.

Wow.....

I'm still a little lost about how the crack "goes away" when the stove is fired.

I'm sure it actually doesn't go away it just closes slightly from the Expansion of the cast iron due to the heat generated by the fire.

Your right, in the right setting and painted up it would make a pretty cool end table.

Clicked the link and it said "Post has been deleted by the author".
They must "half" sold it.

Or maybe the seller saw the listing here on Hearth....got embarrassed and decided to remove it  ya just never know...

Hopefully someone took Danno's advise and made a coffee table out of it.

Perhaps BB...he's gonna put it next to that recliner that lifts your bum up....you know...to give you a running start...my fatherinlaw had one of those....or maybe pen....he loves the magicheat thang....

Ditto.

And once again, demonstrates why a 'gently used' stove is at best a high risk proposition.

Well the posting has been deleted by the author- either means he got tired of people from here flaming him (and rightly so-I was going to!) or he sold it and we'll have another post next year about someone's house burning down- I hope its the former
