... is this normal or do they loosen up over time/use? ... mine actually stick when turning them - the stove/room temp knobs mostly - they almost hit a stopping point. Otherwise the stove is working quite well - as needed that is - since the weather is up and down.
 
How old is the stove? I have never heard of that issue.

about a month old - also just checked the other knob and it is only the room/stove temp setting knob with the issue. I am likely going to call the dealer and see if it is covered to have it replaced.
 
the shaft is probably just rubbing against the sheet metal a bit...pull off the knob and takes a lookie.
 
Sounds normal to me. My P-38 was the same way when it was new. After a few weeks it turned easier.

I removed the knob and reseated it and now it seems fine. I think the knob was pushed on too far and not turning properly. Hopefully it is now a non-issue.
