Feeling the Heat

I have a Harman Accentra which is acting up - it is burning really low, and putting out little heat.

it is also blinking the status light three times. according to the manual, that menas the ESP probe is acting up.

Does anybody know where I can buy a new one, and how hard is it to put in?

You could give Eric at Kinsmans stoves a call and tell him your a member here. He just gave me an excellent price on some parts.

I haven't put one in my accentra yet so I can't speak to how difficult it will be. I don't think it will be bad though.

Not sure about the Accentra but on the P61 it's a snap to take out and clean, can't imagine it would be all that difficult to replace.

Just because you're getting a 3 blink code does not mean you nee a new probe, there could another issue with it. When was the last time you thoroughly cleaned around the probe?

I would clean the ESP probe first before you change It Real easy to get at Its in the exhaust pipe held In by what looks like a 6-32 sheet metal screw. Clean It with Windex and reinstall

ok, so I cleaned the ESP probe, and my stove ran fine for about two weeks. We then had a warm spell, and the stove was off for a couple of days. Then I had to turn it back on for 2-3 days, and I got the 3 blinking lights / ESP error again.

Stove DID turn on, and either ran normally but with a low flame (one day) or had room fan cycling on and off, with a medium size flame (rest of the time). It provided enough heat in both cases, though.

So now that the heating season is over, I am trying to figure out how to fix this.

Any advice?

Windex will clean the dirt off but it may cause the ash to build up very quicky. I would not use windex to clean it. Use a wet paper towel. Did the probe appear to be bent at all when you pulled it out? I would try cleaning it with just water and see what happens. The chemicals in windex can cause you problems down the road.
