Hi all....I've been searching these forums for a couple months now and pushed the button on replacing my propane heat n glo with a
Quadrafire mt Vernon AE insert. going to have it installed in a couple weeks so now I'm thinking about getting a stock pile for next year. i live in Sussex County NJ and am wondering how people find pellets up here. I've seen Dry Creek $285 w/4 ton order delivered, Turnman for $250/ton plus delivery, and Lignetics $262/ton plus delivery. Just wondering what you thought of these prices and if there were any other options...thanks for the help to the newbie!

Welcome to the forum! congrats on the new stove. I've burned Turmans & Lig's (green lettering) both quality burns in my stove. I would give the edge to Turmans they are highly thought of here. If you have been searching this forum you know the motto " Try a few bags before you commit to tons", but this late in the burning season temps going up you may not be able to. I can get Turmans for $240 picked up. Good move to stock up now prices only going to rise. Good luck.

thanks for the tip....i certainly have read 'try before you buy' but like you said, i'm ready to buy as prices are set to go up due to fuel costs. i brought up dry creek because the dealer i'm buy the stove from only sells that brand so that was one reason i was considering them....Tur & Ligs are available not much further so i've noticed a few options out side of big box stores which i've read have high ash content.

You are most welcome This was my 1st year as a pellet burner and I bought mostly from the big box guys you never know what brand they have it varied from week to week. In my area the big box stopped selling pellets mid February and brought out lawn & garden stuff, forced me to seek out the stove shops. I found a great place they carry Hammer hot ones , Turmans , Great Americans and a few other brands single bag price same as ton so I just mixed & matched worked for me. Bottom line is I like the small stove shop local folks they'll give you feed back on what people are buying.
