It is the second half of April but it is 43F here tonight. Burned some more wood today and the storage tanks are full. I burned last Sunday and Wednesday for hot water and a little heat. Needed more heat last night and today, forecast for Easter Sunday is 80F. Go figure!

Still running wood every couple days. In between the heat pump is on in the basement when it is warm enough outside

I'm still burning every day. Ran out of wood weeks ago. Have been keeping the oil burner quiet with standing dead red oak. That's nice.

I got spoiled last year, my first year using the Garn. I was told by everyone here, mostly Eric Johnson and Chris Holley, "boilers in series is bad", "insulate those pipes", etc, etc, but I knew better  . We only had half a Winter last year. Not that cold and record early Spring.
Lesson learned. Changes will be made. Live and learn. :-S

I usually heat into the middle of may. have seen snow on may 16 before. I dont like to use anything but wood for heat.

Snowing and 36f here.Is this what they call the shoulder season.I think it is the whole torso season this year. I can not say enough how i am enjoying my vigas 40 with 1000 gallons of stoage!!!!

I'm still burning in SE MN , just can not warm up or quit raining , not big amounts but just miserable, next week is supposed to be a little warmer but not much drier. My baby calves need sunshine and heat. Maybe tomorrow it will be better, supposed to have partial sun. I think I have burned 4 Gator loads in the last 2 weeks. I just hate using up wood this time of year. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter, has time to reflect and enjoy family. Jim

Sounds like the same weather I'm having. lots of rain. It is spring so I guess that is to be expected.

We've never seen snow here in July, or August. Blame Canada, I guess.

Perfectly miserable day here, 40 degrees, raining, mud and standing water everywhere.

They're going to have to work fast to get any eggs before they float away. Loaded the firebox up with locust, that should warm them up after they're done tracking the mud in.

Snowing here today, still burning, guess I should get off the couch and go down to the basement and throw in a few more splits.

Yah .....one of my boys was grumpin about the fact that he's already into next seasons wood. We're going to be a long ways from 80 for a while here the way things look.

The weather here has been unrelentingly cold, wet, and dark- and unfortunately the same prediction stretches out as far as NOAA is forecasting- only the fungus and mold can be enjoying it much

I haven't touch my stove in 2 or 3 weeks. Gets down to the 30s at night but it's warm enough during the day that it stays pretty warm in the house. I have the thermostats set to 65 and the boiler will run a bit in the morning and that's it. Would be too hard to keep a fire small enough to not have the house at 90*. I guess having a well insulated house isn't a good thing when I'd rather be burning in the stove huh?!

Some days we don't turn off the boiler but looks like today we can turn her off and open the windows for awhile. Sun finally shining this morning but I guess we expect showers/t-storms anytime and everyday for the next 5 days or so....but, at least the temps are supposed to be on the warm side. With the truly dry wood(compared to last year) we have no problem maintaining hot coals from mid morning to late evening which makes it very easy to get a fire going again.

We are tired of the dampness though.......better be plenty of May flowers!

Same here, consistently WAY below normal temps. Grass is barely turning green. Normally my wifes tulips are a foot high by now.... not even out of the ground yet ! Global warming my @ss !!

I can't believe it, I'm lighting the boiler again. I let it go out over the weekend as it was finally getting warm. But NO inch of cold rain last night and they are even talking the s word. So I'll just burn more of my precious wood. Maybe by I can shut it off in May, whoops that's next week , maybe June. Jim
