Still no signs of the spring sales around here.

BT actually RAISED the price of oakies by $5 to 240 now. I would have bought at 235, but I'm waiting to see what else they have for sale. Header still says some at 215-225. Still no other pricees listed on the website. Mid april has come, and it's a few days shy of going.....

Maybe on july 4th we can turn our stoves off and see a spring sale. lol

I hear ya. 240 per ton is a deal where I live. The prices are only going to go up, and sooner than you may think. The pellets themselves are not the reason the prices are going up, it is the trucking. With diesel prices over 4 dollars a gallon and going up by the day.....what do you expect? Just think of it this way, for pellets to be even close to the price of oil and propane right now it would have to be in the range of 400 to 500 dollars a ton. If I were you I would not wait to see what the prices do. Come June....July when the price is up around 250 to 260 per ton, you are gonna say I should of bought at 240 per ton.

I'm waiting to see what brands are up for 215/225. They sell a bunch of stuff i'd buy at those prices.

I wish I could find some at that price up here. Lowest Ive seen was 224 and it only lasted about a week before it jumped.

Most were 235-275 all winter. So, i'm waiting to see what the 'deals' are.
The potomacs were only 235 in dead of winter and burned very good for me. If those are 215 on sale, i'll be stocking up on those as much as i can fit.

Last fall/winter was the sale if you didn't buy then and stock-up 2 month's ago for $150-180 per ton you lose, brian i'm surprised you didnt as you had plenty of warning
Lowes and HD had good pellet's, good enough to keep away from the $$$ one's
Green Team, Somerset's and Stow Chow are all decent.

bt changed it's sale date to late April or early May, they stated trucking issues for the delay, I think this high diesel price might be giving them a headache as far as getting a good wholesale price so that they can pass it on to us in there spring sale. I hope they can keep the price at 215-240.

Hmm. I wish i could store 2 year+ of pellets, but cant. Im glad I can just fit a years supply in my space.

I bought 2 pallets (2.4 ton) of Spruce Pointe last July 3 at 265/ton. Last year spring sale was 245. I took a chance and passed until July: paid more. I used leftover Greene Teams and bought more Greene Teams last fall for shoulder burning.

This year, I tested Somerset (great pellet), Cubex (good pellet), Winter Warmth (ok), Ambiance (so so) and Maines Choice (so so).

This seasons Greene Team coated my entire firebox with stuff that was a beatch to get off. My better half had the same issue on an XXV to the point where it have her venting issues much sooner that it should have. Heat was good, but not worth the mess it left.

Spring pricing for Spruce Pointe is at 265/ton until April 30, then pricing most likely is going up. Dealer saying that the pellet distributor wont hold pricing past 30 days right now with an increase expected after that. In the past, my dealer would have had at least 90 days at this time of year. Not chancing it and ordered 4 pallets (4.8 ton) at 265/ton. If I am getting the same as last July, I am OK with that.

If I could get a good price on Somersets, those would have been my shoulder season pellet, but none to be found. Asked my dealer about Somersets and he mentioned that anything coming from the South is going to be more due to fuel/trucking cost over railing it in from the North.

That being said, it's all Spruces for next year unless prices fall and I can score some Somersets cheap at a later date in the fall: highly unlikely at this point, but who knows what will happen.

I guess maybe BT is still firming up prices for their products, maybe still wheeling and dealing with suppliers.....thing is, many of our pellet suppliers have announced fairly major increases beginning May 1st- between $5 and $30/ton......I know BT likes to stock up before they sell them, maybe thats what they are dojng right now? If not, Im thinking that boat has already sailed.

I just ordered 3 tons of Maine Woods Pellets at $209 at ton delivered. Coming on Wednesday next week. Its the best deal I can find around me now.

Who did ya order from?

I ordered from SIB wood pellets in Jay.http:// site.sibwoodpellets.com

Storage is a big issue for me as well. I really only have room for 2 tons in my basement area around the oil tank. my garage is small and i can't fit even a pallet on the ground and still get my car in there, so that's not an option. My shed is a 200' foot walk. Counter productive to storing pellets without a serious cardio exercise. The city has banned those temporary shed/garages things so that's not even an option.

It's hard to buy in december when all the good paths to the pack yard are covered in snow and the storage area is full anyway.

oh well. we'll see what happens. Maybe the revolution will start before next winter anyway. /tinfoil hat

This is a quote in an email I got from an insider

It’s not only the best deal around him…..it is probably the very best deal in ALL of New England and I will bet you whatever you want it will be higher 30 days from now…..and you can quote me on that……dm

Nice deal you got there. MWP took a bit to catch on, But I really think they got it now. Quality is way up and the prices are some of the lowest.

If you sent Steve an email, it is likely he will not even consider delivering to ct.

Further just so you know he is currently on short rations from the mill, and that is straight from Steve's mouth.

Maine Woods has been down for clean up, maintenance, and a process change. They will be back on line May 1 running a rather large run of 100% softwood pellets.

That is what a little birdie told me

Got to get me some of them 100% softies(for a review)! But seeing they are just starting production and we are about done with burning this season. It might just have to wait til fall!

First I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. We had to move our start up to a later date because we still do not have all of our brands in stock to were we can start. The prices still stand at 215.00 to 230.00 on many of our brands. I must say that it is not easy for us retailers to get the best price and supply to the consumer as we wish.
