You know what I mean. Using the OAK would cause a lower natural draft temp up your flue( stove not running) if you are experiencing below freezing temps to help maintain an ice free chimney cap. Still then a frozen blocked cap is still not plausable.

Soupy, I've used a small electric ceramic space heater for my frozen plow truck pump after an hour it was thawed out. I never used it in my stove but it may work if you still have your problem needing heat up the chimney. Just don't start a fire first.

You post this and everyone tries to help...... and no feedback on what you did or how it went. Did you fire it up?

I don't know if you still have the issue. I would have stuck the little electric space heater I have inside the wood stove and let that run for a while.

It was 85 here yesterday and I was just wondering if that ice is gone yet lol.

For me it's annoying when posters post their problem are given many possible solutions and you never hear back from them if the possible solutions worked or not.It dampens the spirit of the forum for me.

Well he did say it melted.

The first post was Feb.3.The ice will melt post was Feb.4.Does that mean the ice melted the next day during one of the coldest months of the winter ?I don't think so.However the post didn't actually say the ice melted just that in time it will melt which goes without saying.Still as a courtesy it would be nice to know if any of the solutions were tried.
