...Your bank card order will not be processed then...

Right. Checkbook's out, stamp's on the envelope, $540.00 check's almost in the mail headed your way. Easy Peasy. Thanks again, Thomas. Rick

Let's get this thread back up top where it belongs right now. Rick

Bad timing, glad to see at least a few jump on it. I'm sorry that I'm not in a position right now. How long will you be doing this?

Begreen,

I will go to Costco on Monday and get the matches. Awesome idea!

Lara

Great Lara, thanks. If they have cases of them, put me down for a case. If not, ask if they have a case of BIC lighters and please get that and email me with the price. I'll give you call on Monday with credit card info or will send out a check.

My check for the 12 cases is in the outgoing mail, but won't get picked up now til Monday. I'd think you'll see it by Thursday or so, maybe sooner. Thanks again for what you're doing. Rick

Rick,

Thank you for the update, Your generosity will come back to you many times as you know. It sounds like we are all gone after May 21st from the sounds of things. This is just the kind of stuff to get us ready. I will take the earthquake any day over the tornado. I know where to look with a earthquake. I hear 600 people not accounted for and counting.

Gosh Rick, I've heard of that old trick of, "The check is in the mail," many times.

Yeah, I know, Dennis. It's right up there with "I'll gladly pay you next Tuesday." and "I love you no sh!t." But I swear it's true. Rick

Thank you updated!

I am busy putting Hearth.com labels on them now. Have my daughter and friends coming after school to donate their time also. Will follow up later with pictures of this effort, also waiting to hear from Zippo on the lighters.

We will contact all contributors for any special message to be put on your case or cases:).

It's pretty sobering to be clearing downed trees and trash in someone's yard while beside you is a foundation with just part of a floor left. Our family and church to date have concentrated on one neighborhood since the destruction is so wide spread volunteer groups need to focus to make a difference. Power is being restored in the Huntsville/Northern Alabama area with quite a bit up today (several days ahead of early estimates). I don't know what to tell you guys about the needs because for folks that just lost everything they are living somewhere else (shelter or relative). For folks trying to live in their half destroyed home, they are getting lots of neighbor, relative, church, and community help. Appreciate the Red Cross but their presence to date has been tiny compared to the ordinary folks and church groups coming out of the woodworks cooking and getting debris to the edge of the street. Wish I could tell you how to make the greatest impact, but for many in the path of this monster they're not able to live on their property. I will speak for the many families where we removed BIG and small trees from off their homes, vehicles, and property, they are very grateful for the outpouring of help. Our property was essentially unscathed since we are about 10-15 miles north of the main path. But it's amazing to walk around your yard and pick up pictures, cancelled checks, insulation and mail from addresses over 100 miles away. Numerous downed trees prevented my daughter and I from driving north into the teeth of the last and worst tornado. After trying 4 different roads to get north, she was about to cry (23 years old) and we took cover at a friends house. Right decision. This will be a family story told for many years how the local radio weatherman was yelling into the radio the streets and neighborhoods were the tornados were passing thru.

Now on the cheerful side... my dragging crew was waiting on me Friday because my beloved 026 Stilh was working as fast as it could. Saturday morning bought a Stilh MS460.... No one was waiting on me and they were kidding how I was trying to kill em. Funny how it was always in the back of my mind that I carried about 10 years of heat for our home to the side of the street to be hauled off! Thanks for thinking and praying for those affected in our area!!

Thank you for sharing your story. The Red Cross is getting the supplies request out there and it will start showing in big numbers.

Just put my order in.. Great company... Doing a Great thing for those People. Stand-Up thing to do.

Thanks to everyone for their support. I live in Madison County/Huntsville, AL. Our family was fortunate-no injury or damage. We got power back to parts of Huntsville today and pockets of Madison County have power. So many power poles, transformers and lines lay across roads due to 60ft+ trees falling on them. It will be weeks before power restored everywhere. Death toll still climbing. Full brick homes just evaporated in some areas. We had 3 waves of tornadoes - 6am, 12noon and 5pm - some EF 5 with 200mph winds. This community is amazing - so many volunteers to help - they had to turn them away at a main crisis center. We've been under dusk to dawn curfew for 5 days - and no arrests of troublemakers...good deal. We'll get back to normalcy-just takes some time. Lots of sawed hardwoods on roadsides currently!

Thanks for posting that Doug and we're happy for you that you and your family came through this without harm. We've seen many pictures and for sure it looks like a war zone in places and one can only try to imagine what people are going through. It is sort of like the folks in Japan losing everything. Devastating to be sure.

On the good side, you won't have too much problem finding wood to cut.

Here is 42 cases of 108 firestarters per case. There are 38 cases sold I need to sell 4 more. Thanks to all who have helped!

Gretchen, Thomas and Lara
