Hello homer

My neighbor has a New England Stove works. After he called tech support and they told him exactly how to adjust it for his installation, he is a happy camper!

Their tech support and easy to get parts are the best in the biz.

As far as the stoves go, if you want to relax and not have to clean the stove every day or every other day or even every week, you cannot beat the Englander Multi-fuel!! See IMACMAN's post about his 10-CPM >> https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/62598/

http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3933667&CAWELAID=440793959

It is the very best value for looks and price!! Also if you can find a used one, you cannot go wrong!

Here is a nice review of the 10-CPM which is the same stove sold by Lowe's and Home Depot!!

fcshops's Full Review: England's Stove Works, Inc. 2,200 Sq. Ft. Satin De...
We purchased the Englander Multi-fuel Pellet Stove 10-CPM (2200 sq ft) September 2011 and have LOVED almost everything about it! The one draw-back is the mess....but this stove heats like nobody's business, so we put up with it and are considering a second stove.
This stove heated extremely well and kept our very old 1914 two story 2500 square foot home warm in FREEZing North Dakota All Winter! The temperature in the house was usually at about 65-70 because my wife kept telling me the house was too hot! This kind of heat is very different from other heat and we found the home feels much warmer at lower temperatures. The heat is a constant warm heat with no up and down spikes like you find in furnace heat. We did have some growing pains when we first got the stove as it was a floor model at Lowes and England's Stove Works friendly customer support were very knowledgeable and helpful in helping us sort out minor issues and we have had no problems at all since.
Customer Service at England's Stove Works goes above and beyond what many other company's do. They said they would work with us to get this stove up and running or they would send out a brand new unit to us and set it up. They did exactly as they said they would and our stove works fantastic! It took several phone calls and a couple of new parts (which cost me absolutely nothing) and we were up and going. I can not express how much I appreciate good after sales customer service and this fact alone is a major factor in our decision to purchase a second stove from England's Stove Works for our shop.
This was our first winter heating with corn and wood pellets and it has been a learning experience. We now have a rough idea how much corn and wood pellets we might need for a full year of heating and can prepare for next winter by buying our corn in bulk at the elevator. This year we used 120 bushels of corn and about 170 bags of wood pellets. I mixed the corn and pellets evenly because that is where I found the heat output was best. Our temperatures out here dropped to -35 but the house temp never dropped below 65 and the furnace almost never ran. We have no problem recommending the 10-CPM Stove and England's Stove Works to others and when people ask me, i highly recommend the stove and company for quality, price, service and an all around eye pleasing product.

Most stoves use a lot of the same motors and blowers. A lot depends on the user and how clean you keep the stove and the maintance schedule that your on. Dont take care of it, and dont clean it. The stove will only last a year or so. Keep the stove clean. Regularly take the stove apart and clean the components (Lube, dust, vacuum, etc) The stove may last a decade without replacing anything.

As far as Breckwell outlasting others. There was a thread not to long ago that discussed "Brand" name and how often they had to be worked on. If your willing to spend $2,500, then there are A LOT of stove choices out there. The Englander 10-CPM that Don mentioned above is a good candidate. I would love to sell my Quad and buy one of them. There are many options, but you need tp know the BTU range to be in.

The biggest issue is your heating needs. We need more info, before recommending anything.
1. Is the stove going in a main living area? Or a basement?
2. How many sq ft is your home?
3. Ranch or a multi-level home?
4. Well/Poorly insulated?

1500 Sq Ft? Is it a Ranch style house? If thats the case. Then you should be good somewhere North of 30,000 BTU's..Have you checked Craiglist? There are a lot of "Good" Used stoves on craiglist by me. There was a $2,700 Quadrafire Castile with 2 tons of pellets ($440) and flue ($250) and hearthpad ($300). Just shy of $3,700 in Equipment (2 yrs old), for $1,200 a couple weeks ago. Always good deals. I picked up my Fahrenheit (Multi fuel-Furnace) and the pellet stove in my shop this winter off of Craiglist. What area are you from??

in albuquerque new mexico just want to heat one room about 900 sf not all of house

Then the small Englander 25-PDVC will do the job just fine. You can find them on sale for cheap during summer months. Around here as low as $500 in the summer at local HD and Lowes. Dont know if they carry pellet stoves locally around you. Because of the shipping, it still may be cheaper to go on Craiglist. Here are some from your area.

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/for/2376857926.html Very nice St. Criox (Prescott model I believe) Very nice shape. Pricey, but worth it. $1,900

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/for/2364151142.html Very nice Harman. Comes with flue for $1,000

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/app/2337838820.html This is the one I would buy. Enviro makes a GREAT product. Enviro (Model) EF4, Bay Window viewing, good shape. $625

If you are lookingt to spend under $2,000 take a look at the Heatilator units. There is a new one coming out soon that really need looked at.

I would stay away from the Breckwell's for the time being....poor quality control in recent years in an effort to cut production costs.

Here's an inexpensive way to get a stove shipped to you free if you win the bid, and I can personally vouch for the seller...great person to do business with. I bought my present stove from him:

imacman..... They have your 10-CPM for a Buy it Now of $1,499.00 with a current price of $1,099.00 with 0 bids. Wonder if I can bid the $1,099.00 and them still make the sale to me. Did you buy with "Buy it now"? Or did you "Bid" under and them still sell you the stove? I know I can sell my Quad CB 1200 for that much. Been wanting to get a true "Multi-Fuel" stove. Love the looks of the CPM too..... Looks tempting. Wish I never sen this.... Biting nails violently........

I bought mine on a "Buy it Now" at a fixed price. If you can bid the starting price and win the auction, they will sell it to you for the $1099.....a steal if you can get it, and even at $1200, that's a very good price.

BTW, if you DO bid and win it, when you contact the seller, ask about delivery. The free shipping is to a loading dock near you only. If you want it delivered to your door, I think it's like $50 or $75 more....well worth it, IMO.
