Now that is a very cruel irony. Trade ya.

In a New York minute. Come to think of it, we're still burning a little, too . . . http://www.flickr.com/photos/akfirebug/5741613059/

Hey! We got as cold as Fairbanks today. But with 65% humidity headed for 90% in a couple of days.

Better bundle up and bring the brass monkeys inside. How's the wood supply holding up? Seriously, though--how do you breathe at 65% humidity? I was working a bit outside today, and accomplished not much, with frequent breaks. When it's cold, at least you can dress for the weather and keep moving. But this--this is . . . hot . . .
:coolhmm:

I think Barts Naty Light has got something to do with getting through it all.. Like in the basement where it is cool , doing very little,.. surfing the hearth and swillin Naty.

Big Sky reporting in again. The kind folks at the National Weather Service revised their forcast predictions, & have now issued a Winter Storm Warning predicting 1-2 FEET of snow. Guess winter still isn't over...

I can only imagine your frustration--you finally have the fireplace, and the weather in which to burn, and your fireplace is on the blink. Not.fair.

Would happily take about six of those inches off your hands--they'd be dew by morning. Was out chopping wood until about 11, and finally a cooling breeze came out of the woods and the temp dropped to a bearable 70-ish. Will try to get up early and beat the heat.

Snowstorms.

Been good and hot here also. Must be Thursday eh BB. :) But this is only May!! What have ya got to say for that one? I am waiting................All ears BB...Waiting....

Just checked. In the thirties at six in the morning ain't Thursday. That's winter.

We are still waiting for spring, we have only had a few weeks this whole year that it got much over 65. The past week I have had to build a fire nearly every morning. Woke up to it being 38 outside this morning, rained on and off all night and just a few hundred feet up on the mountains it was snow. When the hot weather does finally come we will have to worry about flooding.

Went out early to get started on my splitting quota to beat the heat of the day, then hung three of the four exterior window shades for my sunroom to try to keep it a little cooler in there. My daughter was helping, and we both retreated after the third one and are resting in the cool of our bedrooms. There's a breeze coming through, so that helps . . .

ETA: Finished the window shade project, and dropped the shades today. Couldn't believe how much they cooled off the sunroom. Kept the tile floor nice and cool, and I had a breeze blowing through from the open door to windows in the rest of the downstairs. Bliss to be out chopping wood for awhile, then have a cool place to retreat from the sun.

Burned my last fire on 5/16. Took the shrink rap off of the AC's last night. Loving 85* and humid the last few days. I can't get enough of the heat after this winter. If it were cold enough to be burning right now, I would be pretty depressed.

Same here oldspark.

98 and dewpoint of 68 today. Not liking it. You can see the air outside. It is grey.

Mine was white at times. Yeah, snow flurries, I'm not kidding.

Is yours supposed to accumulate at all? We're supposed to get 2 feet here... & it's almost June.

Ouch BB - I can take heat, but leave the humidity. Hate sweating while just standing outside. Cheers!

I don't think so. Forecast is good for the next few days. Current, I've got about 1/4 mile vis., dumping and sticking. 1/2" accum. only, but I had to bring in more wood. You guy's are gonna catch it way worse than we are. The melt is gonna be bad this year. My creek is ripping, probably have to winch my footbridge up a few feet.

Yeah this place is the perfect storm. It is either too cold, then it is constantly raining or then it is hotter than hell with high humidity. Every year I can count those dry 70 degree days on one hand. Of course I am walking on mud while I am counting.

Oh well, there are bad things about weather wherever you live.

I can take some heat... but not 98° of heat... once it gets past 82 or so, I can't stand it regardless of the humidity... that's when I head for the nearest air conditioner & stick my head in front of it ;-)
65-75 is about my ideal summertime temperature. My ideal wintertime temps are more like 20-30.
