Bought and englander -30 last Feb and also convinced my son to get one for $669 Plus FREE shipping from Home depot in an late season special that ran for months.
In checking out their website for another one for my nephew who is straining under sky high oil heat i found they are now up to $899.00
So i guess they are going back up already in anticipation of those gearing up for another heating season in the fall. Im wondering if ill see that $669 again early next year.

im sure it will drop again, i think last year they were 999 before the discount.

From steel prices and manufacturing costs going up, you may not see 699 again on this stove.
Actually 899 is still a very good price for a over 3 cuft EPA stove.

But, a few things need to be considered.
1) Oil prices will still go up.
2) If may or may not go down to 699 again next year, so paying that $200 more, may be better then waiting for the possibility of it going on sale next year.
3) Also I think it will still qualify for a tax credit this year, but I do not know if it the tax credit will be offered next year so that also will need to be part of the decision.

$899 here in central MA - free shipping - I just bought it. Gonna replace the pellet stove in the basement with this beast.

Did you buy the 30 to replace your insert? Or to replace one of your Big E's? 3 Big E's... Thats A LOT of BTU's!!! Holy Cow.

everythng is goin up... VC has had 2 price inreases this year. Harman went up substantially on central heating units, and went a little crazy raising cost on P series stoves.. Jotul Rangely jumped 250 bucks.

The good old US of A is in a really bad way right now. Seems everything is going up except salaries. Sad.

I'm gonna replace the Big E in the basement. The insert is in the living room fireplace which is really small but works great. Just cant get those long overnight burns. Good for after work and the weekends though. I'm not sure if I'm going to sell the pellet stove or not. Probably will. The 2 Big E's on the first floor are at opposite ends of the house and I rarely run them over setting 2 when I am home. Setting 1 at night and at work. The house is always around 70

THe nephew dont really need the stove for this heating season as he needs to start accumulating wood first. THen letting it dry for a year.
You know how kids are, always broke so cost is very important. Since his parents will most likely be paying for the stove, my recommendation is ,let him prove his commitment first buy gathering a few cords of wood first before they buy the stove for him. If he fails at that............No stove

Companies have been exporting millions of jobs a year for 30 years now ,so why is everyone so shocked that unemployment wont go down. THe govt needs to make it MORE expensive for companies to do this, and LESS expensive to stay here. Not rocket science.

Trump.

I agree with both of your posts!!

So are you saying we need more govt ?

Keep it on track folks. Put the politics in The Ash Can.

We all knew prices would be going up this spring/summer. Shouldnt be too many shocks. All my vendors are done with theirs already. It happens, things go up.
I'm just hopin we see fuel oil under $4 per gallon this winter. Lots of folks had trouble paying heating bills this year. Even though $700 for a wood stove sounds cheap to lots of us on here, these days, for some people its hard to gather that much loot + chimney, hearth, etc.

I know I am still stingin' from that massive $649 + free shipping that I paid for my Englander 30. For that amount of cash, that sucker had better throw off some serious heat!!!!!!

I knew I should have hopped on it at that price - oh well. $899 - 10% off coupon and free shipping wasn't too bad. As long as I can get a 12 burn from the stove I will be happy.

I paid $800 for Mine. But that included EVERYTHING. I bought it from a Forum Member (lethaldose). He was moving to the Carolina's. Came with all Double wall pipe inside, Wall thimble, Clean-out T, 18 ft of Triple wall Simpson (outside), Cap, and Bracket kit for "High Rise" applications. Oh and the Englander 30 of course (with pedestal and legs). And I brought home almost a cord of wood from his house. The stove was only fired twice. He bought it in March, and I bought it 1 month later. I wanted one after reading all the Hype. Looked in the "For Sale" section here and Wa-Laa... There was one for $1,200 with everything. One week later he was moving and took the only spare cash I had. I hope this stove does do everything and more.

Looking forward to that Nuclear Heat that this stove produces.

I bought one at that price and i need another one. I can see where members dont have any regrets about paying 1000+ for the stove. If i really cant wait till feb 2012 ill pay the higher freight.

If your heating with oil and you use a tank a month in the coldest part of the winter( As many do here in central PA) At $4 a gallon that $1000 a month.
Dont take long to make up that $700. If you get your own wood your ahead the first month, after that its miller time.

I just noticed that new addition in your family pic Congrats. One Nice thing about wood heat is you can warm up the whole family for one low price.

He said he didn't need it. I believe it was South Carolina. I'm glad he sold it to me. I got a heck of a deal. But if it were me. I would have taken it. He took a pretty big loss on everything (within a month, ouch). I will continue to thank him and be even more gteatful, when this next heating season comes...

We used to spend around $4,000 a year on Propane. Spent $1,000 or less the last 3 yrs with just pellets. I hope to cut that number in half, or better. If I could get away with using a ton a year. I would have enough pellets to last me 9 yrs as of right now. Plan to use the 30 as much as possible. With the upstairs pellet stove being set to Thermo mode. So if it does cool off while we are at work, it will step in and keep it toasty.. Never been so anxious for it to get Cold in my Life. Never was a winter man. Till I got a spark under my A$$ 3 yrs ago. Decided to fight back against the LP company. Been fighting the good fight since then. Only pay him $20 a year to keep the tank (rental tank) at the house.

Hes still gonna need heat in SC and a lot of AC in summer. Heck there are burners in FLORIDA.
