Thanks. And from a dad, I suggest to all that still have fathers living to take the time give your dad a hug and go out fishing or at least a long walk with him while it is still possible.

Good way to put it BeGreen and thanks wood spliter. I have lost both my options. Lost my Dad and Mom eight months apart 2 month's ago. Was fortunate to be there for both to hold their hands on their last breaths in this world. Married for 65years.
Somehow though I feel they are with me all the time now. It also helps me how I care for my two young boys after this ordeal.
Cheers to you all, and take the time. You never get it back.

Ditto on spending time with your parents...you don't really realize what they mean to you until they're gone. Spend time with them...and your spouse....and with your kids....and grandkids....and....

Sadly the family unit in the USA is fast dissolving. :(

My father was an older parent. Unfortunately when I was a young man, the independence of youth had me striking out on my own and away from my parents. My dad died when I was 32 living 3000 miles away. I never got a chance to tell him how much I appreciate all that he did for me. Life is short and fragile. Last week, we lost a friend at age 59. He had pancreatic cancer and died in 2 weeks from finding out. Don't waste time and don't take the ones you love for granted. Enjoy every minute as if it were the last.

You guys are right. My parents have been gone as have my wife's parents for many, many moons. We miss them...
