Here is a new one to me. On our local craigslist

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/bar/2456771381.html

"I WILL TRADE THIS TRUCK LOAD OF HONEY LOCUST FOR 2-1.75 LIETERS OF JACK DANIELS OR BEST OFFER
FIREWOOD ALL CUT- WILL BE READY IN FALL WHEN SPLIT- CUT 18"-22"
YES I WILL DELIVER WITHIN 5 MILES OF LIBERTYVILLE-LAKE FOREST
I WILL DROP OFF-NOT STACK!
GREAT DEAL!

I WILL DELIVER FARTHER DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH MORE BOOZE YOU WANT TO OFFER?
LETS GET THIS DONE TODAY- I GOT MORE TRUCK LOADS!
FRED"

I'm not sure how many takers Fred is going to get. We had a big wind through here a few nights ago, so there are a lot of downed branches. Have to give him credit for getting right to the point!

the local Jack Daniels distributor could make out pretty good on that deal.

Either not 21 or purchasing alcohol is a parole violation.

I wonder if he'd take 3 cases of Busch Lite or Natty Ice? JD seems pretty high for a single load.

Fred had better hope that his sponsor doesn't see this ad on Craigslist.

Any guy offering to trade goods for booze has an issue;which should be exploited since that is his
problem and not mine! If he sounded nervous on the phone or had the shakes/was sweaty in person
then I'd offer him a couple bottles of Mad Dog 20/20. Maybe a Bottle of White Lightning if he haggles well!

I'm Just Kidding BTW. (Sort Of)

Around here a 1.75 of JD will cost ya from around $38 to $43 + 6% IA sales tax depending on what store you go to.

So $80.56 to 91.16 for 1 truck load (especially if he's got an S-10 or Ranger lol) isnt that good a deal, even for primo honey locust.

I would call and offer one jug of Old Crow.

Dear, "I swear on my stack of firewood, I'll never buy another bottle of Jack Daniels."

Just to add some Canadian content to this thread- it should be spelled litre not liter, or especially LIETERS.. By the same token the length of measure is the metre, a meter is a measurement device. Even though your American spell checker says I am wrong.

Mad Dog 20/20,Night Train (Guns 'n' Roses wrote one of their first songs about it,were promptly sued into changing the title spelling  ) and what's the word ? Thunderbird!

ZZ Top Fandango! 1975 :coolsmirk:

The Kingsman did it back in the sixties. (Correction: It was Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts Band)

What's the word?
Thunderbird
What's the price?
Thirty twice
What's the reaction?
Satisfaction.

Gallo actually had a version of it in a radio ad when they started selling that jet fuel.

To tell the truth I was a young lad well into my primary school education when the metric system was jammed into our most unlikely orifices. For years we were a bunch of kids who didn't know either system worth a darn. I still revert to the imperial system when doing metal and woodwork, and still go back to the Fahrenheit scale when I want to know how hot or cold out it really is!

Your educational system used the get-'er-done method, whereas this one use the drip-drip-drip technique, but I think the general outcome is the same. More efficient, this way, though; for the same transition, we have two or three generations thrown into numeric gridlock . . .

Why Kodiak? Were you out on the Rock for awhile?

Just for a little while. I still entertain thoughts of retiring there some day. I just don't know if I can get used to the idea of not burning hardwood anymore.

Canadian content? You're going to give us Canadians a bad reputation for wanting to correct people on the internet! LOL!

Quick question about the metric system;how tall are you and what is your weight? LOL!

Not correcting just poking some fun at our American friends. As they were at themselves.
As for the other 182.88X10 to the 19th zeptometres and .0000001 teragrams. Yes I am a big sum blitch...that is why I like BIG saws! LOL
How about you?
