I've been trying to get a pic of this guy/gal for some time now. He/she is very camera shy. I believe he/she is a red shouldered hawk who frequents my wood stacks. Many tasty chipmunks and squirrels to prey upon. Sorry about the pics quality, no zoom lense and again, a very camera shy hawk. Pic 3 is my wood guardian, pics 1 and 2 are his/her hunting grounds on either side of the fence.

I would say you are correct. We have one that nested next door and every morning I'm out watching the baby learn to fly. It's awesome!

Thanks,
I think there is a nest about 100 yards away. You cant mistake the nasty screetch they make for such a beautiful bird.

We've got Red-Shouldered here as well. Cool birds!

Nice stack, plenty of critters in there for the hawk.

Wow!

Hey, that is a nice way to keep the little critter population under control.

True. For a while there I thought I was breeding chipmunks!

Worry not. Get rid of all the chipmunks and others will move in to take over the territory anyway. It is a constant battle here. We typically get rid of a couple dozen every year and still have no shortage.
